    Dreams...

They can be so real and yet just plain impossible in reality. Only in dreams, the impossible happens.

Many people have told me that impossible is nothing. But, tell me, is turning back time possible? That's just an example, it doesn't mean I want to turn back time.

Sometimes, there are some things in life that is just impossible to achieve due to very limited choices being thrown at and the dilemma faced in making the right choice even if it isn't the choice that you want.

Sometimes, you can achieve the impossible, but it'll take you a very long period of time. Maybe months, years or even decades! You wouldn't know what the future has in store for you. It is a matter of taking that risk or chance that would change your life.

I hate facing a slap of reality when I open my eyes after a dream that is so nice that it makes me wish that it was REAL.

But, I guess, dreams are where our imagination runs wild...

  2. Does love breed hatred? I always wonder this question. Always when we felt in love, somehow hatred was developed. I know love is an important part in our lives, but somehow it is hard to achieve the love we desire.

Why we must felt hatred when our love is not accepted by the person you like? Isn't it wrong to feel this way. The relationship thing is so hard to figure out, sometime it just hard to felt in love at all. It's hard to confront the person you like knowing you won't be together.

  3. What is 'Traditional Diet'????
"Traditional diet" is the diets of native populations such as the Native Americans, Khoisan or Australian Aborigines. Often to qualify for cultural cuisine, traditional diets include more organic farming and seasonal food according to food origins.

Traditional diets vary with availability of local resources, such as fish in coastal towns, eels and eggs in estuary settlements, or squash, corn and beans in farming towns, as well as with cultural and religious customs and taboos. In some cases, the crops and domestic animals that characterize a traditional diet have been replaced by modern high-yield crops, and are no longer available.[2] The slow food movement attempts to counter this trend and to preserve traditional diets.

    Hello...
    How Compasses Work????
No matter where you stand on Earth, you can hold a compass in your hand and it will point toward the North Pole. What an unbelievably neat and amazing thing! Imagine that you are in the middle of the ocean, and you are looking all around you in every direction and all you can see is water, and it is overcast so you cannot see the sun... How in the world would you know which way to go unless you had a compass to tell you which way is "up"? Long before GPS satellites and other high-tech navigational aids, the compass gave humans an easy and inexpensive way to orient themselves.

But what makes a compass work the way it does? And why is it useful for detecting small magnetic fields, as we saw in How Electromagnets Work? In this article, we will answer all of these questions, and we'll also see how to create a compass from scratch!

A compass is an extremely simple device. A magnetic compass (as opposed to a gyroscopic compass) consists of a small, lightweight magnet balanced on a nearly frictionless pivot point. The magnet is generally called a needle. One end of the needle is often marked "N," for north, or colored in some way to indicate that it points toward north. On the surface, that's all there is to a compass.

The reason why a compass works is more interesting. It turns out that you can think of the Earth as having a gigantic bar magnet buried inside. In order for the north end of the compass to point toward the North Pole, you have to assume that the buried bar magnet has its south end at the North Pole, as shown in the diagram at the right. If you think of the world this way, then you can see that the normal "opposites attract" rule of magnets would cause the north end of the compass needle to point toward the south end of the buried bar magnet. So the compass points toward the North Pole.
To be completely accurate, the bar magnet does not run exactly along the Earth's rotational axis. It is skewed slightly off center. This skew is called the declination, and most good maps indicate what the declination is in different areas (since it changes a little depending on where you are on the planet).

The magnetic field of the Earth is fairly weak on the surface. After all, the planet Earth is almost 8,000 miles in diameter, so the magnetic field has to travel a long way to affect your compass. That is why a compass needs to have a lightweight magnet and a frictionless bearing. Otherwise, there just isn't enough strength in the Earth's magnetic field to turn the needle.
The "big bar magnet buried in the core" analogy works to explain why the Earth has a magnetic field, but obviously that is not what is really happening. So what is really happening?
No one knows for sure, but there is a working theory currently making the rounds. As seen on the above, the Earth's core is thought to consist largely of molten iron (red). But at the very core, the pressure is so great that this superhot iron crystallizes into a solid. Convection caused by heat radiating from the core, along with the rotation of the Earth, causes the liquid iron to move in a rotational pattern. It is believed that these rotational forces in the liquid iron layer lead to weak magnetic forces around the axis of spin.

It turns out that because the Earth's magnetic field is so weak, a compass is nothing but a detector for very slight magnetic fields created by anything. That is why we can use a compass to detect the small magnetic field produced by a wire carrying a current

Do u know why we feel hungry so fast when it is raining day or cold weather?Do u notice that in this kind of situation,we are quite often shaking?Actually, when there is raining day or cold weather, our body will response to the situation by adjusting our body temperature,so that our body temperature remain at the optimum level. Our body will shake so that it can produce heat in our body to maintain our body temperature.Because of that we will feel hungry very fast. This is due to our body produce heat and consume a lot of energy.Hence we will feel hungry so fast even though just a while after a meal.So it is,better eat something rich in carbohyrate and protein so that can provide energy to the body to produce heat to maintain our body temperature.Besides,we must wear thick shirt so that our body won't need to do so much work in a cold weather.

I have read an article talk about a human right.Nowadays, more and more fights, wars had been started and more and more human going to sacrifice and most of them are children who are our future leaders. It is too much as our human right has been disappeared.Human seem like no more right to protect themselves and they are treated like nobody even can compare to animals. Why this kind of problem can appear? Why must we follow the strongest country idea but lost our right for our own self?Does it worth it?We must protect our human right so that we can live peaceful without war even though we at a small country.A peaceful country is what the important criteria to worry about.Without peace. Is it neccesary to bomb other country just a small issue and sacrifice people for them to learn a lesson?I think discussion is the better method to prevent war as every problem must be a way to be solved. No reason for war for a patty issue. We must use our right to protest war as war will make more war without ending.Just like Case 911,the war haven't stop yet and still heat and hot. Therefore it is better don't start a war if there still get chance to solve.Nothing can't be solved but you have to believe it.Finally, human right for peace.

It is right to say that we must always treasure our parents forever as it won't be a chance when they are gone.Parents is the only people that care about us without any flavour in return. They are willing to sacrifice their time, money for us without any complain. They can raise as many children as they have with all their heart. Why would we argue who to take care for them,They never abandone we although it is the tougher year to go.Why can't we take care for them and stop avoiding our responsible and our duty for them? They never doubted us and put it 100% to us.So we must take good care of them. Moreover,we must take care ourselves is what the parents want,we must responsibe to ourselves is one of the way to show our dutiful to them.Don't make them sad because of ourselves.Make them as happy as possible as it left not much time for them in this world and we won't feel regretted although they are gone as we live together happily without pain.It is good to look after them as to be a family member it is not easy as it is our destiny and we meant to be a family.Hence, concern and care your parents.Don't regret if you lost them without taking good care of them. They won't come back again if they gone,so take the opportunity to enjoy life with them.

    EARTH HOUR 2009
I would like to remind everyone that tomorrow 28th March 2009, 8.30pm-9.30pm will be our Earth Hour in which all of us are encouraged to turn off all the lights and all the electricity usage. But as for me and in my opinion... one hour without light is quite horrible... so i think i m going to support this by not wasting any unused electrcity and energy sources in our daily life. I think this will help much more than the One Hour Earth Saving Campaign. I am not against it but I am urging everyone the seriousness of the illness of our Mother Earth and let us protect her through our daily lifestyles. Remember that all starts within us...
P/S:Newspaper today reported that no electicity cut at that particular hour.

  9. Hamburgers today

Hamburgers are usually a feature of fast food restaurants. The hamburgers served in major fast food establishments are mass-produced in factories and frozen for delivery to the site.[3] These hamburgers are thin and of uniform thickness, differing from the traditional American hamburger prepared in homes and conventional restaurants, which is thicker and prepared by hand from ground beef. Generally most American hamburgers are round, but some fast-food chains, such as Wendy's, sell square-cut hamburgers. Hamburgers in fast food restaurants are usually fried, but some firms, such as Burger King use a grilling process. At conventional American restaurants, hamburgers may be ordered "rare", but normally are served well-done for food safety reasons. Fast food restaurants do not offer this option.

The McDonald's fast-food chain sells a sandwich called the Big Mac, one of the world's top selling hamburgers. Other major fast-food chains – including Burger King (also known as Hungry Jack's in Australia), A&W, Culver's ,Whataburger, Carl's Jr./Hardee's chain, Wendy's (known for their square patties), Jack in the Box, Cook Out, Harvey's, In-N-Out Burger, Five Guys, Fatburger, Burgerville, Back Yard Burgers, Lick's Homeburger, Roy Rogers, and Sonic – also rely heavily on hamburger sales. Fuddruckers and Red Robin are popular hamburger chains that specialize in mid-tier "restaurant-style" variety of hamburgers. The "slider" style of mini hamburger is still popular regionally in the White Castle and Krystal chains.

Some American establishments offer a unique take on the hamburger beyond what is offered in fast food restaurants. Notable is Father's Office in Santa Monica, California. The patty is composed of dry-aged sirloin mixed with New York Strip ends topped with applewood-smoked bacon compote. It is topped with maytag blue and Gruyère cheeses, caramelized onions, and arugula on a French roll. In lieu of ketchup, Father's Office serves a blue cheese aioli in a ramekin. Dyer's Burgers in Memphis Tennessee is famous for a deep-fried burger. The proprietors claim that they recycle and re-use the same grease used when the restaurant opened in 1912. The casual dining chain Ruby Tuesday claims to have many different varieties of hamburgers on its menu of various shapes, meat compositions, or grades of beef.

Hamburgers are often served as a picnic and party food, cooked outdoors on barbecue grills. Raw hamburger may contain harmful bacteria that can produce food-borne illness such as Escherichia coli O157:H7, so caution is needed when handling them. Hamburger patties can be cooked rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, or well done. These terms refer to how thoroughly the meat is cooked, ranging from having a little bit of pink coloring to being dark brown, cooked almost to a crisp. However because of the potential for food-borne illness, it is recommended that hamburgers should be cooked to an internal temperature of 170°F (80°C). If cooked to this temperature, they will be well done. In certain places and restaurants around the world, restaurants add their own sauces.

  10. I don’t know why I read this article. Maybe I like chocolate…Chocolate has become one of the most popular flavors in the world. It is a common ingredient in many snacks and desserts, including cookies, cake, ice cream, pudding, pie and candy. Gifts of chocolate molded into different shapes have become traditional on certain holidays: chocolate bunnies and eggs are popular at Easter, chocolate coins on Hanukkah, Santa Claus and other holiday symbols at Christmas, and hearts on Valentine's Day. Chocolate is also used in cold and hot beverages, including chocolate milk and hot chocolate.
While chocolate is regularly eaten for pleasure, there are potential beneficial health effects of eating chocolate. Cocoa or dark chocolate benefits the circulatory system. Other beneficial effects suggested include anticancer, brain stimulator, cough preventer and antidiarrhoeal effects.] An aphrodisiac effect is yet unproven.
On the other hand, the unconstrained consumption large quantities of any energy-rich food such as chocolate are thought to increase the risk of obesity without a corresponding increase in activity. Raw chocolate is high in cocoa butter, a fat which is removed during chocolate refining, then added back in varying proportions during the manufacturing process. Manufacturers may add other fats, sugars, and milk as well, all of which increase the caloric content of chocolate.
It will be difficult to stop from taking chocolate immediately. So the only way is to control when taking chocolate. It was not for others but it for our health too.i just only think about that solution only because I also really love chocolate.

  11. Jabatan Kimia (JKM)

When you first time heard this name, you will immediately relate this to chemistry and the manufacture of chemical substances. In fact, this organization have nothing to do with chemical manufacture, but it is more to the application of science and technology in finding evidence or identification towards a products…

JKM can be divide into 3 departments that is administration, forensic parts and SGKAS.
As for the administration department, it is more to the management of JKM. It just like a normal company, it need a group of people in organizing the daily routine of working for JKM.

On the other hand, The Forensic Part can be subdivided into 2 sections, which are Forensic Serology and Forensic Toxicology. The job scopes of the previous one are finding biology evidence, DNA profiling, criminalities and trace evidences, drug testing, document examination, crime scene examination and so forth. As for the later, it is responsible for the analysis of body fluid, alcohols and drugs; analysis scheduled poison under Poisons Act 1952; and also the analysis of poisoning such as suicides, accidental poisoning, murder, sudden death reports ant etc.

Lastly, SGKAS had been divided into 2 sections, which are Food/Industry/IKTD part and Water and Environmental part. For the former one, it is related with the food analysis. It always reviews for the safety and quality of exported food; review and determine the contents of food; standardized and specifications of foods; control the chemical repellents that can be used to fruits and vegetables; and others…. While for the other one part, it have something to do with checking the level of chlorine inside water, cleaning the contaminated sea water, analysis of BOD, COD, pesticides or bacteria inside the rivers.

  14. I read about articles about what to wear on a romantic occasion or Valentine Date.

Choosing Your Color Wisely – Why Not Red, Pink or Hearts
Nothing says Valentine’s Day like wearing red or pink. While these colors may be too bold for everyday wear, they are more than acceptable for the holiday of love. When choosing your perfect red or pink outfit, think about your skin tone and hair color. There are thousands of shades of both colors, allowing you to wear one which will compliment your skin. Those with dark hair can get away with bolder colors of red. Those with light hair should stick with cooler shades of red or pink. However, those with red hair should steer clear of red altogether and choose a nice light pink for the holiday. If you can fathom wearing either red or pink in your outfit, consider celebrating the holiday with accessories. Add a red scarf to your black suit or a pink belt to your little back dress.
    Get Flirty In a Skirt
If you want to look like you’re up for a little flirting fun, think about choosing a skirt for your Valentine’s Date. Since this holiday is extremely romantic, it’s a great idea for you to embrace your feminine style and dress like a lady. A great red, pink or black dress is ideal. However, a great A-line or pencil skirt can make just as great of an impression. Pair it with a form fitting top, high heels and soft jewelry for maximum fashion style.
Makeup & Hairstyles for Romantic Evenings
Valentine’s Date makeup should be suited for the activity. For example, if your date is taking you on a romantic ice skating date in New York City, there’s no need for full makeup and extravagant hairstyles. Instead, choose to keep it simple and sweet with rosy cheeks, glossy lips and a neutral eye. Keep your hair simple and romantic by curling it into soft curls and pulling it into a ponytail.
However, if your date is in the evening think about using a smoky eye makeup technique, red gloss on the lips and rosy cheeks. For extra shimmer, skip the glitter (it’s only reserved for teens and young girls) and instead use a champagne body shimmer on your cheeks and cleavage. In a pinch you can substitute the genuine body shimmer for shimmering white eye shadow or highlighting cream. An evening date requires more sophisticated hair so choose a fancy up-do, a simple bun or loose and flowing curls.
Clothing To Avoid – Keep it Elegant
Just because it’s Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean you should pull out the hearts and cupid imprinted turtleneck or the homemade holiday sweatshirt. Instead, choose to be festive in a more subtle manner. You can quickly add a sense of holiday fun to an outfit my using metallic accessories to celebrate. A scarf with a metallic stripe in it or even a shirt with a silver pinstripe can instantly scream “holiday” while still allowing you to look classy and in fashion..

  15. Smile

Do you like to smile???? Recently, I read an article about smiling. It claimed that smiling is good for ours health. As we smile, all the muscle on our face will move together at the same time. This will help to exercise the muscle on our faces. Besides this, we will felt relax when we smile as ours mind blank at that moment.

Furthermore, smiling also can act as a communication skill. We can express ours friendly to others by just smiling. Can you imagine what would you felt when others looking at you with a bitterness face. You certainly will felt uncomfortable and annoyed it…. But, as we smile to others, they will feel pleasant for that. It is because smiling is a positive emotion and it shows ours friendly towards them. This happy emotion will started to spread and affect the mood of the people around us.

As a conclusion, life can give us hundred reasons to cry, but you can give life a thousand reasons to laugh!!!! Therefore, smile more to everyone around us from now on.

  16. Three Advices

There is a story I wanted to share with guys and gals... Below is the summary of the story:

One day, a newly married husband and wife had to separate because the young man wants to go for work. Before he leaves, he promised to his wife that he will come back until he had the ability to give a comfort life to her.

After 20 years, the young man became a middle age person and he decided to back home. Before he goes, his ask for his salary from boss. The boss says to him, “you can choose to take your salary and then back home, or you want 3 advices from me? You have two days to consider about it, don’t rush to do a decision.” After two days, he went to see his boss and ask for the advices. Although the boss reminded him that he wouldn’t get any paid if he choose the advices, but he still choose it. The advices are:
    1. Do not walking short cut. Taking a strangely short cut might lead you dead!
    2. Never be curious about something that might bring troubles to you that will take your life.
    3. Never make decision under the circumference of hated and pain or you will regret for all your lifetime.

After that, the boss gave him 3 breads, 2 for him to eat on the ways back home and the other was for him to eat with his wife.

On the ways back home, he met a person that tells him that there is a shortcut can lead straight away to his home. He was happy and decided to take the ways. At this moment, he thinks of the first advice given by his boss. Thus, he doesn’t take the shortcuts. A few days later, he knew that the shortcut was actually a trap for robbery. He was glad that he didn’t follow the shortcut. Then, he rent a room in a small inn to spend overnight in a town. At night, he heard some noise outside his room. He decided to go out and see what’s happened. But, he think of his boss 2nd advice, then he went back to sleep. On the next morning, he heard the owner of inn says that yesterday night someone was killed due to his curiosity. That man saw the burglar went inside the inn, so he was killed. At last, he reached his home. But, he was so disappointed to see his wife. He saw a man inside his house!!!! He was so furious and wanted to kill that man. In this critical circumference, he remembered his boss last advice and cool down. He went inside the house and sees his wife. His wife was so happy to see him again and introduced his son to him. He was so surprised to know that the man was actually his son. His wife was pregnant when he want go for work. After a while, they shared the last bread given by his boss together. They discovered all his payment for the past 20 years inside the bread!!!!

Lastly, from the story above, if the young man behaves impulsive and forgot all the advices, he will die. Therefore, no matter under what circumferences, we must stay calm.......

  17. Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamed whose real name is Mahathir s/o Iskandar Kutty is a figure who needs no introduction. He is the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia which he held for 22 years. From 1981 to 2003, he is the country's longest serving Prime Minister as well as in the whole of Asia.

Tun Dr Mahathir, or in short Dr M has very much contributed, as the leader of the country the modernization of the country, promoting his ideology of Vision 2020 where he aimed to turn the country into an industrial one by then. He put forward plans that were supposed to be implemented in stages in order to achieve that, most of which was done during his term in office. This however has changed much ever since his retirement and the taking over of the office by his successor.

Dr M was also the first Prime Minister who came from a social background whereas all the Prime Ministers before him had royal or elite ties.

During his term as the PM, he was one who won the hearts of many for making his stand against the western values and culture and most prominently for seeing the country through during the economic crisis.

Born in December 20, 1925, Dr Mahathir hailed from the state of Kedah, at the capital of Alor Star, whose father was a school teacher. His father was Indian who migrated from Kerala, who married a malay lady and sold banana fritters during the second world war. His early education was through vernacular school and at the Sultan Abdul Hamid College in the city. After that he was educated in Singapore at the King Edward VII Medical College. During that time, he wrote in his contributions under the name “Che Det” to the Straits Times, a name he uses in his blog today.

After graduation, he returned to Malaysia where he became a medical officer with the Malayan government. He then married his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, who was his colleague and classmate in 1956. Subsequently, he started his own medical practice. Together he had five children, three boys and two girls. Two of his sons went on to be involved in politics and corporate sectors while his daughter Marina Mahathir is known for her involvement as an AIDs activist as well as her NGO stance in the local media.

Dr Mahathir's political involvement is filled with events and significance where he started being active in 1945. He joined the Umno (United Malays National Organization) in 1946.

He was first elected into the Parliament in the 1964 general elections via the Kota Setar Selatan seat more than 60% majority votes. The following elections (1969)saw him losing the seat by 989 votes after declaring that he did not need to win through Chinese votes. After the riots that took place in 13 May 1969, Dr M publicly criticized the Prime Minister then Tunku Abdul Rahman, for favouring the Chinese in handling his government which led to the riots. For doing that, he was expelled from Umno.

At this time, he wrote a book 'The Malay Dilemma' which he explain the reasons of the May 13 riots but was banned by Tunku. Some of his rationale though eventually was used by the preceding Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak when he constructed the New Economic Policy (NEP). Dr M then rejoined Umno in 1972 and subsequently appointed Senator a year later. He then gave up that post to contest in the general elections, standing in the Kubang Pasu constituency. Through that winning ticket, he became the Minister of Education. He then went on to become the vice-president of Umno, a post he held with 2 others.

The Prime Minister then, Tun Hussein Onn subsequently appointed him as the Deputy Prime Minister before he was given the Minister of Trade and Industry portfolio as well in 1978.

In July 1981, Tun Hussein Onn resigned as the Prime Minister, subsequently handing the country's top post to Dr M.

After a lot of attempts to find living things in Mars, look like all the hard affords gonna paid off. Evidence is building that NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander plopped down on a microbe-friendly location.

Descending onto Mars on May 25, 2008, Phoenix was designed to study the history of water and habitability potential in the Martian arctic's ice-rich soil. It did not pack instruments designed to find life. To date, there is no firm evidence that Mars ever hosted biology.

But researchers say the landing site has or had the ingredients necessary to support life as we know it.

Recently, scientists revealed controversial evidence of liquid water at the landing site. Water is a key to life.

Now four papers are under review for scientific publication on four major discoveries from the mission, said Peter Smith, the Phoenix mission's principal investigator at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Smith and other Phoenix scientists provided a review of what the spacecraft uncovered on the red planet at last week's 40th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference held here.
For now, the Mars Lander mission is over.

As the craft's available solar power declined with the approaching Martian winter, the mission was declared finished — maybe, anyway — Nov. 2 when Earth controllers were unable to re-contact the robot.

"We will try to get it back in October but the chances are poor," Smith said. "However, it is known as the Phoenix mission and we do have a chance. We may be back," he added.

Young agreed that a repeat landing by a spacecraft near the northern polar region is warranted.

"There are things we couldn't do. There are things we didn't do," she said. "There are things that serendipity could have delivered to us and didn't. But we have not found any impossibilities...we've not found anything that's a no. And we have added a lot to the possibility — and so more missions are needed. We need to go deeper...we need to go back."

I read an interesting article entitle "Discover the 90/10 Principle" by Stephen Covey. In the article, the author introduce to us a new theory of life or so called 90/10 Principle.

10% of life is made up of what happens to you.
90% of life is decided by how you react.

What does this mean? We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. For example, we cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. However, the other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%. How? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light. But you can control your reaction by stopping the car. I believe that if those people apply this principle in lives, they will be better person. Manage your life, do not let situations manage yours!!!

  20. Why do we sometimes cry when we laugh?

Weeping with laughter, sobbing in sorrow. Our bodies react similarly when emotions run high. A few scientists have explored the phys¬ical pathways of emotional tears, but none have categorically stated why these tears exist. Tom Lutz, author of Crying: The Natural and Cultural History of Tears, notes Darwin published snapshots of laughing and crying people to demonstrate that the same expression accompanies both behaviours. ''Some tears are squeezed out of the ducts simply because the face is scrunched up,'' explains Lutz. ''But tears also accompany the body's return to homeostasis after extreme excitation. So after a big laughing jag, tears are a sign that the body is returning to normal.''

What tears are made of, however, may offer further clues about why we cry. Unlike tears that well up when you chop onions, emotional tears are unusually rich in protein-based hormones that spike when you're stressed. This fact led one US biochemist to theorise that releasing tears – and thus the hormones in them – may be the body's attempt to reduce stress. Regardless of its cause – be it pleas¬ure or pain – people do tend to feel better after a good cry.

  21. today our Ko-Q group had a beep test. For myself, I only reached level 5-5 which was the best I could do that time. I wish to upgrade the level in the future. What is actually beep test? Well, it is a multi-stage fitness test, which is used by sports coaches and trainers to estimate an athlete's VO2 max (maximum oxygen uptake). It was created by Dr. Maximillion G. Odoowed Ledgear in 1982, and was published in the European Journal of Applied Physiology. The test involves running continuously between two points that are 20 m apart. These runs are synchronized with a pre-recorded audio tape or CD, which plays beeps at set intervals. As the test proceeds, the interval between each successive beep reduces, forcing the athlete to increase velocity over the course of the test, until it is impossible to keep in sync with the recording.
The recording is typically structured into 23 'levels', each of which lasts around 63 seconds (the shortest level is level 16, lasting 60.45 seconds, the longest is level 2, lasting 67.8 seconds). Usually, the interval of beeps is calculated as requiring a speed at the start of 8.0 km/h, increasing by 0.5 km/h with each level. The progression from one level to the next is signaled by 3 rapid beeps. The highest level attained before failing to keep up is recorded as the score for that test.

I can't imagine if there is someone who can reach more than level 10...

    well,impossible is nothing..-adidas-

    Scientific Name: Allium sativum

Biological Background: This bulbous plant is closely related to onions, leeks, chives and is a member of Allium vegetables. Garlic is native to Central Asia, and has been cultivated for at least 5,000 years.
Nutritional Information: Due to its use as a spice, garlic provides insignificant amount of nutrients.
Pharmacological Activity: The healing power of garlic is recognized through Chinese folk traditions dating back thousands of years. Garlic contains multiple compounds and antioxidants including organosulfur compounds (diallyl sulfides), which are believed to be responsible for most of the pharmacological and antimicrobial actions. Garlic is a proven broad-spectrum antibiotic that combats bacterial, intestinal parasites, and viruses. It can lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol, discourage dangerous blood clotting, lower chances of cancers (especially stomach cancer). Garlic is a good cold medicine, acts as a decongestant, expectorant, antispasmodic, and anti-inflammatory agent. It has antidiarrheal, estrogenic, and diuretic activity and appears to lift mood.
Eating Tips: High doses of raw garlic have caused gas, bloating, diarrhea and fever in some. To fight bacteria, raw garlic is better. However cooking does not diminish garlics blood thinning and other cardioprotective capabilities, and in fact, may enhance them by releasing antithrombotic ajoene. As a cancer fighter, raw garlic may be better than cooked ones. Eat garlic both raw and cooked for all around insurance. Eating garlic with parsley may reduce garlic breath.

Even most of people do not like to eat garlic due to it's smell, but it give us a lot of benefit to our health.

    Hye everyone...
For this time I would share about Plastic Food Containers, Health, and Better Food Storage Solutions.Several research studies have found that when plastic comes in contact with certain foods, molecules of the chemicals in the plastic can leach into the food or beverage. Certain characteristics of the food item can make it more likely to pick up plastic molecules:

    * The more liquid a food is, the more it touches the plastic, so the more opportunity it has to pick up plastic molecules.
    * Acid foods, such as tomato sauce, appear to be particularly interactive with plastic.
    * If you heat a food item in a plastic container—even if the container is microwave-safe—the transference of plastic from the container to the food is even more likely.

When molecules of plastic—or more properly, molecules of the chemicals that get added to plastics during manufacturing—get into our bodies, it's not a good thing. They can cause unwanted effects in the human body; for instance, some of the chemicals mimic estrogen. Estrogen, of course, is a normal, essential human hormone; but having too much of it (or the molecules that mimic estrogen) has been associated with breast cancer and other health problems. In general, chemicals that fool the body into thinking they are estrogen or other hormones are called endocrine disruptors and are best avoided..

So, if plastic food containers are sometimes trouble, what would a better food-storage solution look like? The primary characteristic you want in a container material is inertness—that is, you want a material that holds tightly to its own molecules and does not let them go floating off into the food or drink touching the container. On this score, glass is the best choice, followed closely by porcelain, ceramic, and stainless steel.

So, I said before we must think before eat..

  25. April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day, although not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1. The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, enemies, and neighbors, or sending them on a fool's errand, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible.
The real news on April'S Fool Day
Leslie Cheung, one of Hong Kong's well-known singer and actor, committed suicide in 2003 due to severe depression.
The 2005 death of comedian Mitch Hedberg was originally dismissed as an April Fools' joke. The comedian's March 29, 2005 death was announced on March 31, but many newspapers didn't carry the story until April 1, 2005.

British sprinter Dwain Chambers joined English rugby league team Castleford Tigers shortly before April 1, 2008. The athlete was attempting a return to top flight athletics at the time following a high profile drugs ban, and his apparent unfamiliarity with rugby led many people to assume this was an April Fools' Day prank.

Ironing is a mysterious process for many. Most people do not learn how to properly iron their clothes until they are well past college. Poor ironing procedure leads to damaged clothing. Ironing tips are there for a reason - to provide you with the ironing help you need for perfect garments every time.

    A few important ironing tips:
    • Use rainwater or distilled water in your iron's water reservoir as an ironing help tip to give your clothes a nicer feel.
    • If you are going to wear a sweater, you can get away with only ironing the collar.
    • Hang your shirts up promptly on a hanger after ironing to keep from wrinkling the shirt. Be sure to button the top and center buttons.
    • You can cut your ironing time in half if you choose to cover your board with aluminum foil. It reflects the heat the iron produces, helping to heat the fibers of the garment on both sides.
    • If you are working with a garment that is extra thick, iron the inside of the garment. Then work on the outside.
    • If you are ironing corduroy, steam the material first. It will help to work out the wrinkles.
    • Always properly maintain your iron according to the directions in your owner's manual. This will prevent you from damaging your garments. It may also help your ironing to look as neatly as you want it to.
    • Be sure to read the instruction labels on each article of clothing you plan to iron. Ignoring the warnings printed there can be a disastrous experience.
    • It is essential that you pay attention to what you are doing at all times. Forgetting about the task at hand can seriously damage your garments.

Taking out that old steam iron does not have to be a frightening experience. If you follow some of the ironing tips available, you should be able to make your wardrobe wrinkle-free in just a short time. Moreover, by using these ironing tips, you’ll develop the confidence in your ironing and the ability to save money by not lugging all your shirts and other garments to the dry cleaner!

There are some tips how to attract your friends
    1. `Be yourself.’ Everyone is unique, so dress how you want to. Don’t try to fit in, be proud of your individuality. Then, go out and be noticed being yourself. Do things with people you meet, whether they are existing or new friends, and go and enjoy yourself.
    2. `Be respect.’ Smile and do something that will get you noticed. Help people if they need you.
    3. `Be nice to others, to new friends you meet and to people you meet.’ If you are in school and are working with someone that is unpopular, be nice and listen to what they want to say.
    4. `Be modest.’ No one likes sow-off, especially if they do it all the time. If you want to brag about something, do not prolong it and do it tastefully.
    5. `Be outgoing and be easygoing.’ There’s nothing wrong with being shy. But lighten up a little! It'll be hard to attract friends if you're "anti-social". Talk to new people. By this way, maybe more people will want to be around you.
    6. `Smile.’ People will love someone that will smile during the hardest of times.
    7. `Avoid to make a trouble with friend.’ This will make other will less respect to you.

Electrocardiography (ECG) is the recording of the electrical activity of the heart over time via skin electrodes. It is a noninvasive recording produced by an electrocardiograph. Electrical impulses in the heart originate in the sinoatrial node and travel through the heart muscle where they impart electrical initiation of systole or contraction of the heart. The electrical waves can be measured at selectively placed electrodes (electrical contacts) on the skin. Electrodes on different sides of the heart measure the activity of different parts of the heart muscle. An ECG displays the voltage between pairs of these electrodes, and the muscle activity that they measure, from different directions, also understood as vectors. This display indicates the overall rhythm of the heart and weaknesses in different parts of the heart muscle. It is the best way to measure and diagnose abnormal rhythms of the heart, particularly abnormal rhythms caused by damage to the conductive tissue that carries electrical signals, or abnormal rhythms caused by levels of dissolved salts (electrolytes), such as potassium, that are too high or low. In myocardial infarction (MI), the ECG can identify damaged heart muscle. But it can only identify damage to muscle in certain areas, so it can't rule out damage in other areas. The ECG cannot reliably measure the pumping ability of the heart; for which ultrasound-based (echocardiography) or nuclear medicine tests are used.

people cry because others cry, they were asked to cry, they wanna pretend to cry,
people also cry when it hurts so much that it hurts not to cry.

    Faith

There was once a hiker who was very proud. He would like to go and climb a mountain all by himself without asking his friends along so that he could win the fame.

So he started his journey alone. At first it was good. Soon the day is getting darke, but he doesn't wanna stop there. He wanted to reach the peak of the mountain by night as he thought he was able.

So, he climbed and climbed and he begun to feel exhausted. Suddenly, he slipped and fell down from the cliff. At that moment he experienced free fall and at that very moment he called unto God and said," God, help me!"

Suddenly he felt that he was hold by a strong robe. and he stopped falling. He had a relief.
Now,he knows that it is God. But he was hanging in the middle of the air. It was cold and freezing. Then he called unto God again. "God, save me!"
Then there was a sound talking to him. It was God. God asked him, "Do you have faith in me? Do you believe that I can save you?"

He answered," Yes, of course". So God said," Let go of the rob".

But the hiker did not let go of his hands.

The next day, there was a news in the the paper saying. "A hiker died of freezing, holding tight on a robe, two feets from the ground".

Many times, we said we trust someone, but do we really trust in him? Or many times, do we really mean what we have said?

  32. I have came across to a very interesting article which is “Characteristics of Genius”. A genius is someone who has mastered certain principles and "ways" of conducting themselves, so that they can achieve any desire they want. This is because there are certain laws in work which we are not aware of, yet which the genius has discovered through trial and error. Below, you will find the most important characteristics of a genius which are essential if you are to achieve your dreams, no matter how great they may be.

    1. Vision - It is very important that in any endeavour you know exactly what you want to achieve. There is a saying that you can never come back from a place you have not been and likewise you will never get to the place you have not chosen.

    2. Desire - If you have a burning desire to achieve the results that you want then already you are a long way down the road toward achieving your "vision". You will find that all achievement is accompanied by a burning desire.

    3. Faith - The faith required for genius is not necessarily a religious faith but an overwhelming belief in yourself and what you are doing (that may well be fuelled by a deep religious conviction). Colonel Sanders (Kentucky Fried Chicken) had so much faith in his chicken recipe that he endured over 1000 rejections before someone agreed to use it.

    4. Commitment - Once we have a vision, a burning desire to realise the vision and the faith to believe that we can do it then we must be committed enough to do the things necessary, regardless of how difficult they may appear to be.

    5. Planning - It is the identification of short, medium and long term goals on the way to our vision that will assist us in getting there. Once we know the path we wish to take it is much easier to focus our efforts. Of course with effective planning it means that we can balance our lives and have more control over our time.

    6. Persistence - Thomas Edison is an example of persistence in action. Did you know that he tried several thousand different designs before he finally invented the electric light bulb? When would you have given up? So, even when things seem at their worst, keep going.

    7. Learning from Mistakes - The first thing that you should understand is that it is fine to make mistakes. Just to be clear that if you want more success have more failures. But to make this even more palatable for you, a missed attempt is not a failure it is a result. If you learn from that result to improve your performance next time then it is a victory.

    8. Subject Knowledge - Those who tend to succeed in a particular field are more often than not those with the most knowledge on that subject. You will also find that geniuses not only know all there is to know about their own area but they also have developed a love of learning that gives them a great deal of knowledge in other often unrelated areas.

    9. Mental Literacy - Well standard literacy is the understanding of the alphabet to enable you to read and write and to communicate and understand ideas transmitted through that medium. Numeracy is the same but in the language of numbers.

    10. Imagination - To be a great visionary you need to utilise your imagination. It is said that Einstein imagined travelling on a sunbeam and through that experience discovered that the universe was curved. If you can believe it then you can see it. Create it in your own mind first, apply yourself and watch it materialise before your eyes.

    11. Positive Attitude - Having an upbeat, can do attitude is good for you and puts you in a much more resourceful state to enable you to achieve what you want much more easily. That is not to say that life will not give you a few hard knocks along the way but when they do come, meeting them in a positive frame of mind will allow you to deal with them much better.

    12. Auto-suggestion - You are your best coach because you can be there all the time. Why not stack the odds in your favour and tell yourself that you are going to get the result that you want. If you tell yourself often enough you will begin to believe it and with that sort of faith anything is possible.

    13. Intuition - Have you ever felt that something was not quite right and then discovered thing were not all they appeared to be. Or conversely did you ever just know that something was going to happen, however unlikely, and it did. That is your intuition. Trust your instincts because more than likely they will be right. There is much about the human mind and its powers that we do not know about and perhaps never will but if something works for you then keep on doing it even if you don't know how or why.

    14. Mastermind Group (Real) -. The mastermind group is your select team of advisors and close associates. Choose them wisely because they can and will have a strong influence on your thinking. Do you want good grades? Hang around with those who get good grades and find out what they are doing and if you do the same, guess what?

    15. Mastermind Group (Internal) - Of course there is nothing stopping us from taking inspiration from people inaccessible to us because of distance or time and using their positive influence to shape our futures. Ask yourself what your heroes would do or advise in the situations that you find yourself in and then do the same if it is appropriate.

    16. Truth and Honesty - You may think that you can get away with not being truthful to others but remember that truth is always much easier to justify. If you tell one lie you may have to tell several to justify that one lie. Then those lies need justification and soon the web of deceit is too much to handle. Always be true to yourself so that your spirit can rest easy in the knowledge that you are honest.

    17. Courage in the Face of Fear - Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the taking of action in spite of the fear because without the fear there would indeed be no courage. Many of the geniuses that we recognise as such had to face huge fears in order to make their mark on the world.

    18. Creativity and Flexibility - All great scientific and artistic ideas came from the ability to be creative and flexible in the approach to a problem. If you try something and it does not work, try something else. If that does not work try something else. And guess what happens if that does not work......keep trying. Remember it is the result that you want not the process you have to go through to get it.

    19. Love of the Task - If you are enthusiastic about something you will enjoy it more and you are more likely to be good at it. So how does that work for something that you don't like to do but have to? Well find reasons to enjoy doing what you have to do and then get on and enjoy it. No one said that everything that you have to do will be enjoyable for you but on the other hand no one ever said that we can't enjoy everything that we do. The choice is yours.

    20. Energy - With sufficient energy, you can do anything you put your mind to. Find what saps your energy (be it certain food, certain people etc) and remove that from your life. And conversely find what gives you energy (be it certain food or certain people) and add that to your life.

So where does all this lead to? Well if you apply the characteristics of genius to your own study and life then things can only get better. Don't try all 20 at once, begin with one or two and then as they develop as habits introduce one or two more.

    How to beat the crowds

It's a fact even fresh-faced travellers quickly realise: the best spots are always crowded. Here's how to get the most out of your next adventures:

1.ask at tourist or ticket offices about busy visiting times and days so that you can avoid peak periods.
2.accommodation near the attraction allows you more flexibility-such as early or late starts.
3.check if there are out-of-hours tours or events, or behind-the-scenes talks.
4.ask if tickets can be pre-purchased elsewhere to avoid queues.
5.read up before you go so you don't miss the best features. if you're interested in one thing about an attraction, avoid a guided tour that rushes you through everything.
6.if you belong to a motoring or social club, check your membership benefits. many offer discounted entry at popular cultural spots.

i just found it in reader digest.so i just want to share with you.

SEVEN WAYS TO IMPLEMENT STORYTELLING TODAY.

stories can be used in any kind of organisation at any level and with any audience. i am started given story or speech in front of peoples when i'm in standard 6. at first time,i was participated in a storytelling competition.i'm so nervous that time because i'm not ready and less self confidence and also less of practise.
its doesn't matter what kind of story you want to tell anyone, but you must have good preparation.

recently i'm just read about this article.
so i want to share with you so that we can improve ourselves in giving storytelling.

1.keep a notepad hand to jot down examples of " people caught doing things right" as david armstrong refers to the success stories he tells.
2.develop a catchy title for each story so as to grab peoples's attention at the very beginning.
3.incorporate stories in your regular communications, for example, memos, reports, presentation, and meetings.
4.set a date with your work team to identity stories that exemplify the value of your collective contribution to corporate goals.
5.share stories in your regularly schedule meetings.
6.ask for feedback on your storytelling skills-or hire a coach-to hone your delivery.
7.continually collect new stories so you always have fresh tales to supllement the legends.

Recently, i read a news on the internet...Its about a university mistakenly accept 29000 applicants who actually fail to enter the university. The school's communications office said an e-mail was sent to all 46,377 students who applied to study in the university including the 29,000 rejects, welcoming them to the campus.
After that they realize their mistake, and second email was sent apoligizing to the freshmen applicant for their mistake.

I personally think that the mistake was not acceptable.Because it shows that they are not aware of other people feelings especially the applicants who had hope to be accepted in the university and it is something very important for them that to be accepted by a univesity is like achieving their dreams...I hope that such mistake like this would never happen again...

hello.. I have read about our mosque of Al-Aqsa just now.. As we know mosque of Al-Aqsa is the first qiblat of Muslim before it is transfer to Kaabah. But now the mosque of Al-Aqsa is under Jews.. Jews take a advantage to confusing people especially Muslim.. They have distributed the picture of Dome of The Rock as a mosque of Al-Aqsa.. Sometimes they sell with a low price and sometimes they give as free to many people.. Jews only have one reason to do this which is to demolish the real mosque of Al-Aqsa. As a Muslim, I think we should know how to differentiate between mosque of Al-Aqsa and Dome of The Rock. We did not to be fool by anyone that can destroy our belief in God. Let's we think about it...

  40. 1. Read a book- Now, they don’t say that books are your best friends for nothing! A good book with a cup of coffee can give you company for hours. Even if you are not much of a reader you can still indulge yourself into comics! Remember Archies, Tinkle, Garfield, Calvin &Hobbes.......

    2. Pen down your random thoughts- Often when you are alone and away from near and dear ones, the solitude of time and space brings lot of thoughts in the head and it is the best time to introspect and write down your thoughts into a diary…..a certain memoir to keep! You will yourself be surprised when you read it again after a few years.

    3. Go for a walk- What better to beat the solitude than being amongst people itself! A stroll by a beach, lake or in a park will cheer you up so much. At times just gazing at people, observing their activities can really take your blues away. And then, a breath of fresh air and a little bit of exercise will also give extra benefits!

    4. Listen to your favorite music- Just put the CD on and play your song. It is probably the best time for you to listen to ‘your’ music and feel it completely. You can sing along aloud, you can groove with it in front of the mirror or you can simply close your eyes and feel the rhythm in your soul.

    5. Solve a puzzle- Take a crossword, su-do-ku, brain-teasers -anything that interests you, and try solving it. Set your own deadlines and make your own rules. It is a great way to not just avoid boredom but also exercise the brain!

    6. Experiment in the kitchen- Now, if you are a homemaker then you might not like this idea a lot but there is always a time when each of us want to experiment our own recipes. And what better time than this to test your culinary skills! Go ahead, mix and mash anything you feel like without any worries of what will your hubby/boyfriend/kids will eat if you mess it up! If you are a guy, well you might just impress your girl with a culinary innovation!

    7. Watch a movie- Get a DVD from your local shop and enjoy a movie. A comedy is the best option but so is any other movie that you really have been wanting to watch in a long time but haven’t got a chance to do!

    8. Pamper yourself- Go shopping! Join a hobby class. Learn something new or

  42. Step1
Begin with the most popular ways to calm your nerves. Incorporate one or more of the following into your life (one of the most familiar techniques: yoga, tai chi, music, hypnosis, exercise and massage.

    Step2
Autogenic relaxation. Autogenic means something that comes from within you. In this technique, you use both visual imagery and body awareness to reduce stress. You repeat words or suggestions in your mind to help you relax and reduce muscle tension. You may imagine a peaceful place and then focus on controlled, relaxing breathing, slowing your heart rate, or different physical sensations, such as relaxing each arm or leg one by one.
Step3 Progressive muscle relaxation. In this technique, you focus on slowly tensing and then relaxing each muscle group. This helps you focus on the difference between muscle tension and relaxation, and you become more aware of physical sensations. You may choose to start by tensing and relaxing the muscles in your toes and progressively working your way up to your neck and head. Tense your muscles for at least five seconds and then relax for 30 seconds and repeat.

    Step4
Visualization. In this technique, you form mental images to take a visual journey to a peaceful, calming place or situation. Try to use as many senses as you can, including smells, sights, sounds and textures. If you imagine relaxing at the ocean, for instance, think about the warmth of the sun, the sound of crashing waves, the feel of the grains of sand and the smell of salt water. You may want to close your eyes, sit in a quiet spot and loosen any tight clothing.

    Step5
Quick fix. If you feel stressed take a few moments out, says Tejvan Pettinger, a member of the Sri Chinmoy Meditation Centre. Watch and be aware of your breathing. Breathe naturally and gently; this will have a very powerful, calming influence on your mind. When you breathe in, feel that you are breathing in inner peace. When you breathe out, feel you are exhaling all your anxieties and worries. Relaxation can be this simple and it doesn’t have to be complicated at all.

  44. Hello....Football is the word given to a number of similar team sports, all of which involve (to varying degrees) kicking a ball with the foot in an attempt to score a goal. The most popular of these sports worldwide is association football, more commonly known as just "football" or "soccer". The English language word "football" is also applied to "gridiron football" (a name associated with the North American sports, especially American football and Canadian football), Australian football, Gaelic football, rugby football (rugby league and rugby union), and related games. Each of these codes (specific sets of rules, or the games defined by them) is referred to as "football".

    These games involve:

    * Two teams of usually between 11 and 18 players; some variations that have fewer players (five or more per team) are also popular
    * a clearly defined area in which to play the game;
    * scoring goals and/or points, by moving the ball to an opposing team's end of the field and either into a goal area, or over a line;
    * goals and/or points resulting from players putting the ball between two goalposts
    * the goal and/or line being defended by the opposing team;
    * players being required to move the ball—depending on the code—by kicking, carrying and/or hand passing the ball; and
    * players using only their body to move the ball.

In most codes, there are rules restricting the movement of players offside, and players scoring a goal must put the ball either under or over a crossbar between the goalposts. Other features common to several football codes include: points being mostly scored by players carrying the ball across the goal line and; players receiving a free kick after they take a mark/make a fair catch.

Peoples from around the world have played games which involved kicking and/or carrying a ball, since ancient times. However, most of the modern codes of football have their origins in England.

  45. What is tennis????
Tennis is a sport played between two players (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a strung racquet to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt (most of the time Optic Yellow,[1] but can be any color or even two-tone) over a net into the opponent's court.

The modern game of tennis originated in the United Kingdom in the late 19th century as "lawn tennis" and had heavy connections to the ancient game of real tennis. After its creation, tennis spread throughout the upper-class English-speaking population before spreading around the world. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including people in wheelchairs. In the United States, there is a collegiate circuit organized by the National Collegiate Athletics Association.

Except for the adoption of the tiebreaker in the 1970s, the rules of tennis have changed very little since the 1890s. A recent addition to professional tennis has been the adoption of "instant replay" technology coupled with a point challenge system, which allows a player to challenge the official call of a point.

Along with its millions of players, millions of people worldwide follow tennis as a spectator sport, especially the four Grand Slam tournaments (sometimes referred to as the "majors"): the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.

  46. Badminton is a racquet sport played by either two opposing players (singles) or two opposing pairs (doubles), who take positions on opposite halves of a rectangular court that is divided by a net. Players score points by striking a shuttlecock with their racquet so that it passes over the net and lands in their opponents' half of the court. A rally ends once the shuttlecock has struck the ground, and each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net.

The shuttlecock (or shuttle) is a feathered projectile whose unique aerodynamic properties cause it to fly differently from the balls used in most racquet sports; in particular, the feathers create much higher drag, causing the shuttlecock to decelerate more rapidly than a ball. Shuttlecocks have a much higher top speed, when compared to other racquet sports. Because shuttlecock flight is affected by wind, competitive badminton is best played indoors. Badminton is also played outdoors as a casual recreational activity, often as a garden or beach game.

Since 1992, badminton has been an Olympic sport with five events: men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, and mixed doubles, in which each pair is a man and a woman. At high levels of play, the sport demands excellent fitness: players require aerobic stamina, agility, strength, speed and precision. It is also a technical sport, requiring good motor coordination and the development of sophisticated racquet movements.

  47. Did you know about ice hockey???
Ice hockey is played on a large flat area of ice, using a three inch (76.2 mm) diameter vulcanized rubber disc called a puck. This puck is often frozen before high-level games to decrease the amount of bouncing and friction on the ice. The game is contested between two teams of skaters. The game is played all over North America, Europe and in many other countries around the world to varying extent. It is the most popular sport in Canada, Finland, the Czech Republic, and in Sweden.

The governing body is the 64-member International Ice Hockey Federation, (IIHF). Men's ice hockey has been played at the Winter Olympics since 1924, and was in the 1920 Summer Olympics. Women's ice hockey was added to the Winter Olympics in 1998. North America's National Hockey League (NHL) is the strongest professional ice hockey league, drawing top ice hockey players from around the globe. The NHL rules are slightly different from those used in Olympic ice hockey: the periods are 20 minutes long, counting downwards. There are three periods.

Ice hockey sticks are long L-shaped sticks made of wood, graphite, or composites with a blade at the bottom that can lie flat on the playing surface when the stick is held upright and can curve either way, legally, as to help a left- or right-handed player gain an advantage.

There are early representations and reports of ice hockey-type games being played on ice in the Netherlands, and reports from Canada from the beginning of the nineteenth century, but the modern game was initially organized by students at McGill University, Montreal in 1875 who, by two years later, codified the first set of ice hockey rules and organized the first teams.

Ice hockey is played at a number of levels, by all ages.

MAIN WINS CONTEST WITH 1528 POUNDS PUMPKIN

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. - Thad Starr's giant pumpkin really began putting on weight in August — a lot of weight.

The pumpkin gained about 30 pounds a day on its way to victory Monday at the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-off in Half Moon Bay.

Starr's pumpkin finished at a record 1,528 pounds. Starr won last year with a pumpkin that that was four pounds lighter and also set a record.

Starr, of Pleasant Hill, Ore., bought a trailer to transport the pumpkin. It has a circumference of 15 feet.

He says his secret to growing big pumpkins is good soil: "We really pamper them."

Melamine is an organic compound that is often combined with formaldehyde to produce a resin. Melamine can be found in daily household items such as your kitchenware, floor tiles, upholstery fabrics, formica tables and counters as well as filters.

Melamine is indeed a type of plastic which is fire-resistant. Unfortunately, if you expose melamine products to very high temperatures like in your oven and microwave, melamine will melt.

Melamine was invented in the 1830s by a German scientist and started being used to make plastics and laminates in the 1930s.

Because melamine is so cheap, certain unscrupulous food companies have also started adding it into food as a cheap filler substance. In certain tests, melamine also shows up as a protein so manufacturers can also use it to boost their protein percentage on their label in order for the product to “look” more nutritious.

Global warming may really be a warning to whole of the globe very soon. Unabated global warming could lead to a serious depletion of oxygen in the world's oceans, creating "dead zones" that could remain for thousands of years, purging some areas of advanced marine life, a new study says. Low-oxygen areas known as dead zones are now typically limited to coastal areas, where excess fertilizer runoff causes greater growth of algae in water. When the algae decompose, it consumes much of the oxygen in the water, leaving the area unable to support much aquatic life.

Global warming could expand these low-oxygen areas. Such expansion would lead to increased frequency and severity of fish and shellfish mortality events. Warming leads to reduced ocean water circulation and diminishes the ability of oxygen to dissolve in sea water. As time goes on, these effects are amplified by the Earth's progressively increasing sensitivity to temperature and emissions.

The depletion of oxygen causes the ocean to be stripped of nutrients. This leads to large, unpredictable changes in the oceans' ecosystem structure, perhaps even calling into doubt the ocean as a source of food.

    HI BUDDIES!!

i had read on an article about the causes of the greenhouse effect..

Trace gases in the atmosphere cause the greenhouse effect by acting like a blanket on a global sale and slowing the radiation of heat back out into space. This effect moderated temperature on the Earth long before humans began changing the chemistry of the atmosphere. Like a well managed greenhouse, the Earth's surface remained warm, but not too hot, and thus allowed the growth of the lush ecosystems we have inherited. The increase in heat-trapping gases in the Earth's atmosphere caused by human activity means the greenhouse effect could, like a poorly managed greenhouse that is left closed up on a hot summer day, overheat and do great damage to all the living creatures on the Earth. The primary greenhouse gases include:
    • carbon dioxide
    • methane
    • nitrogen oxides
    • fluorinated gases
These make up only one percent or less of the Earth's atmosphere, but they are almost entirely responsible for all of it's heat trapping capacity. Greenhouse gas levels have increased dramatically since the start of the industrial revolution.

i had watched the 'death race' movie and i summarized the story..

‘Death Race’, where hardened convicts and smoking-hot navigators race tricked-out cars in the most twisted spectator sport on Earth! Sentenced to the world’s most dangerous prison for a murder he did not commit, Jensen Ames (Janson Statham) , has only one chance to get out alive which is win the ultimate race to the death. Also starring Tyrese Gibson, Death Race is a supercharged, sick, and satisfying ride that will keep you pinned to your seat all the way to its insane, metal-crushing end!

Frankly said, this isn’t a particularly smart movie, but it’s a fun movie, and one that delivers on the car killing mayhem it’s supposed to. Paul W.S. Anderson may have a lot of flaws as a filmmaker, but the man knows cheap thrills, and he delivers them here. I’m not sure what else you could possibly ask from a movie called Death Race, except that it have both death and racing. It does, and if that’s your flavour then bon appetite.

now on i would like to share with you my favourite song entitled 'love bug'..

Called her for the first time yesterday
Finally found the missing part of me
Felt so close, but you were so far away
Left me without anything to say

    Now I'm speechless,
    over the egde just
    Breathless,
    I never thought
    That I'd catch
    This love bug again
    Hopeless,
    Head over heels,
    In the moment,
    I'd never thought
    That I'd get hit by
    This love bug again

I can't get your smile out of my mind
(i can't get you out of my mind)
I think about your eyes all the time
Your beautiful, but you don't even try
(you don't even, don't even try)
Modesty is just so hard to find

    Now I'm speechless,
    over the egde just
    Breathless,
    I never thought
    That I'd catch
    This love bug again
    Hopeless,
    Head over heels,
    In the moment,
    I'd never thought
    That I'd get hit by
    This love bug again

Kissed her for the first time yesterday
Everything I wish that it would be
Suddenly, I forgot how to speak
    Hopeless, Breathless, Baby can't you..see

    Now I'm!

    Now I'm speechless,
    over the egde just
    Breathless,
    I never thought
    That I'd catch
    This love bug again
    Now I'm hopeless,
    Head over heels,
    In the moment,
    I'd never thought
    That I'd get hit by
    This love bug again

    LOVE BUG, AGAIN

The Jonas Brothers have debuted their new video for "Lovebug," the latest single off their album 'A Little Bit Longer’. This song caught me totally by surprised. I don't remember what I was doing but it came up on the radio and I just dropped it and got lost in the melody. Such a soothing song. The best word for this song is ‘amazing’! This song is perfect. I love the part when it gets all fast with the guitar solo.

Actually, I really do love this song. It is my second favorite song ever. In my opinion, this song kind of Hey There Delilah (Plain White T’s), yet it doesn't seem like a rip off. The Jonas Brothers can get a little too pop sometimes, but they always deliver. So I downloaded the new Jonas Brothers album for my niece, burned it and put it in the CD player and left. I came back right when the solo to this song dropped. I was like "did you change CDs or something?" So now I have actually listened to the whole album (which I was about to delete) and really like it. I mean I really disliked their previous albums outside of thinking a couple of songs were vaguely catching. I'm really impressed. Now if I ever watch their Disney shows, shoot me.

my budies, i would like to share some information
about the secrets to get a good sleep.

Sleep is the natural state of bodily rest observed in humans and other animals. Sleep debt is the effect of not getting enough rest and sleep. A large debt causes mental, emotional and physical fatigue. The multiple theories proposed to explain the function of sleep reflect the as yet incomplete understanding of the subject. Some of proposed functions of sleep are as follows; Restoration, Memory Processing, and Preservation. There are a great many possible reasons for sleeping poorly. Following sleep hygienic principles may solve problems of physical or emotional discomfort. When pain, illness, drugs, or stress is the culprit, the cause must be treated. Sleep disorders, including the sleep apneas, primary insomnia, periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD), restless leg syndrome (RLS) and the circadian rhythm sleep disorders, are treatable.
In my opinion, elderly people often face with problem of losing the ability to consolidate sleep. They need the same amount per day as they've always needed but may need to take some of their sleep as daytime naps. Therefore, we should apply some useful techniques in order to improve the quality and quantity of our sleep. Here are some techniques that we can share together:

    1. Listen to white noise or relaxation CDs
    2. Avoid before-bed snacks, particularly grains and sugars
    3. Read something spiritual or religious
    4. Avoid using loud alarm clocks
    5. Get to bed as early as possible
    6. Check your bedroom for electro-magnetic fields (EMFs)
    7. Keep the temperature in the bedroom no higher than 70 degrees F
    8. Eat a high-protein snack several hours before bed
    9. Also eat a small piece of fruit Reduce or avoid as many drugs as possible
    10. Avoid caffeine
    11. Avoid alcohol
    12. Lose weight
    13. Avoid foods that you may be sensitive to
    14. Don't drink any fluids within 2 hours of going to bed
    15. Take a hot bath, shower or sauna before bed
    16. Remove the clock from view
    17. Keep your bed for sleeping
    18. Have your adrenals checked by a good natural medicine clinicianI
    19. f you are menopausal or perimenopausal, get checked out by a good natural medicine physician
    20. Don't change your bedtime
    21. Make certain you are exercising regularly
    22. Establish a bedtime routine
    23. Go to the bathroom right before bed
    24. Wear an eye mask to block out light
    25. Put your work away at least one hour (but preferably two or more) before bed

i had watched the movie entitled 'step-up' and i made a summary about the story...

An aspiring ballerina from a wealthy family learns some lessons about both dancing and life from a roughneck with soul in this teenager’s drama. Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum) grew up on the wrong side of the tracks in a rough section of Baltimore, and always has been in and out of trouble with the law. Finding himself before the judge yet again, Tyler is sentenced to 200 hours of community service, and he ends up mopping floors at the Maryland School of the Arts. Tyler catches the eye of Nora (Jenna Dewan), a gifted ballet student who is trying to incorporate hip-hop moves into her classical routines. None of Nora's fellow students seem to be on the same page as her, but Tyler is a talented street dancer with strength, moves, and enthusiasm. Therefore, Nora persuades Tyler to team up with her for a major class project. Tyler gains a new self-respect as he gives in to the discipline of the dance academy, but he wonders if this new opportunity means turning his back on who he really is. Matters become all the more complicated when Tyler and Nora realize they're falling in love.

I thought ‘Step up’ was a great movie. There was a good cast and awesome and beautiful dancing. It is very sad at one part, but it was kind of predictable. Channing Tatum, in my opinion did a good job. I loved this movie and I think you should watch it. Basically, this was an amazing movie and of course I loved it! I love watching dance movies because they make me proud to be a dancer especially this one! It had great dance choreography and I liked that! It also had other things going on other than just dance and not to mention Channing Tatum is very good looking! In addition, ‘Step up’ is the best film ever. The ballet bit at the beginning was incredible. I only hope that one day I can dance like that. It was incredible music and incredible dancing. I loved it!

    THE 4 WIVES

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.
He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.
He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.
Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.
One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"
Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.
The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.
He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.
Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"
Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives
    a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.
    b. Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.
    c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
    d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.
Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament

In my opinion, the moral of this story is we never notice and realise what we had in our life and tent to get things that are not belong to us. It is a human nature, not to appreciate and thankful on what they already have until one day they realise that they had lost it. On that moment, they will start to regret on the things they have done, but there is nothing that could be change. So, we have to start appreciating everyone in our life and also think positive to all the bad things and take the good thing as the morale in order to become a better person.

    The Praying Hands

Back in the fifteenth century, in a tiny village near Nuremberg, lived a family with eighteen children. Eighteen! In order merely to keep food on the table for this mob, the father and head of the household, a goldsmith by profession, worked almost eighteen hours a day at his trade and any other paying chore he could find in the neighborhood. Despite their seemingly hopeless condition, two of Albrecht Durer the Elder's children had a dream. They both wanted to pursue their talent for art, but they knew full well that their father would never be financially able to send either of them to Nuremberg to study at the Academy.
After many long discussions at night in their crowded bed, the two boys finally worked out a pact. They would toss a coin. The loser would go down into the nearby mines and, with his earnings, support his brother while he attended the academy. Then, when that brother who won the toss completed his studies, in four years, he would support the other brother at the academy, either with sales of his artwork or, if necessary, also by laboring in the mines.
They tossed a coin on a Sunday morning after church. Albrecht Durer won the toss and went off to Nuremberg. Albert went down into the dangerous mines and, for the next four years, financed his brother, whose work at the academy was almost an immediate sensation. Albrecht's etchings, his woodcuts, and his oils were far better than those of most of his professors, and by the time he graduated, he was beginning to earn considerable fees for his commissioned works.
When the young artist returned to his village, the Durer family held a festive dinner on their lawn to celebrate Albrecht's triumphant homecoming. After a long and memorable meal, punctuated with music and laughter, Albrecht rose from his honored position at the head of the table to drink a toast to his beloved brother for the years of sacrifice that had enabled Albrecht to fulfill his ambition. His closing words were, "And now, Albert, blessed brother of mine, now it is your turn. Now you can go to Nuremberg to pursue your dream, and I will take care of you."
All heads turned in eager expectation to the far end of the table where Albert sat, tears streaming down his pale face, shaking his lowered head from side to side while he sobbed and repeated, over and over, "No ...no ...no ...no."
Finally, Albert rose and wiped the tears from his cheeks. He glanced down the long table at the faces he loved, and then, holding his hands close to his right cheek, he said softly, "No, brother. I cannot go to Nuremberg. It is too late for me. Look ... look what four years in the mines have done to my hands! The bones in every finger have been smashed at least once, and lately I have been suffering from arthritis so badly in my right hand that I cannot even hold a glass to return your toast, much less make delicate lines on parchment or canvas with a pen or a brush. No, brother ...
for me it is too late."
More than 450 years have passed. By now, Albrecht Durer's hundreds of masterful portraits, pen and silver-point sketches, watercolors, charcoals, woodcuts, and copper engravings hang in every great museum in the world, but the odds are great that you, like most people, are familiar with only one of Albrecht Durer's works. More than merely being familiar with it, you very well may have a reproduction hanging in your home or office.
One day, to pay homage to Albert for all that he had sacrificed, Albrecht Durer painstakingly drew his brother's abused hands with palms together and thin fingers stretched skyward. He called his powerful drawing simply "Hands," but the entire world almost immediately opened their hearts to his great masterpiece and renamed his tribute of love "The Praying Hands."
The next time you see a copy of that touching creation, take a second look. Let it be your reminder, if you still need one, that no one - no one - - ever makes it alone!

The moral of this story is determination in achieving goals and how important the education would in this world, especially in this century. Nowadays, people always searching and grab all the opportunities they had because the world has become global, there is no boundaries between other countries like 20 years before. People, who never neglect their education, are the one who is going to survive in future. No matter how hard it takes, education is the key of everything and it will give a guarantee in life. And it never to late to change the perception that ‘I am old already so, I guess I couldn’t cope with all this anymore, my memory is already stuck” anyone could have the education as long as they know what they really want.

    The Princess and the Pea

Once upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess; but she would have to be a real princess. He travelled all over the world to find one, but nowhere could he get what he wanted. There were princesses enough, but it was difficult to find out whether they were real ones. There was always something about them that was not as it should be. So he came home again and was sad, for he would have liked very much to have a real princess.
One evening a terrible storm came on; there was thunder and lightning, and the rain poured down in torrents. Suddenly a knocking was heard at the city gate, and the old king went to open it.
It was a princess standing out there in front of the gate. But, good gracious! what a sight the rain and the wind had made her look. The water ran down from her hair and clothes; it ran down into the toes of her shoes and out again at the heels. And yet she said that she was a real princess.
Well, we'll soon find that out, thought the old queen. But she said nothing, went into the bed-room, took all the bedding off the bedstead, and laid a pea on the bottom; then she took twenty mattresses and laid them on the pea, and then twenty eider-down beds on top of the mattresses.
On this the princess had to lie all night. In the morning she was asked how she had slept.
"Oh, very badly!" said she. "I have scarcely closed my eyes all night. Heaven only knows what was in the bed, but I was lying on something hard, so that I am black and blue all over my body. It's horrible!"
Now they knew that she was a real princess because she had felt the pea right through the twenty mattresses and the twenty eider-down beds.
Nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive as that.
So the prince took her for his wife, for now he knew that he had a real princess; and the pea was put in the museum, where it may still be seen, if no one has stolen it.
There, that is a true story.

In my opinion, the story of ‘The Princess and the Pea’ is very interesting. I'm trying to figure out the moral values of the story. Here are several moral values that had been figured out:

    1. Don't judge a book by its cover
    2. Don't give up
    3. Parents want a genuine mate for their child
    4. True love is finding a genuine heart
    5. You don't have to search for your love. The true love will certainly come to you itself!

Basically, the story of princess and the pea had a really good moral. On my side, I give 4 stars to this story because it is very interesting and good vocabulary. In fact, it was a traditional story which contains nice plot and description as well. This tale was written way before any of us was ever dreamed of. It is an old classic tale and rightful story because the moral applies to all ages.

I had read a short story entitled, ‘The Tidy Drawer’, last night. I think this story was very good but I gave it 3 stars because it could have more description. In fact, the plot was boring and the ending was like a little bit sudden. But then, it was a good lesson for me because I should keep my drawer clean. I learned a big lesson. hehehe…
Apart from that, I like the relationship illustrated between the mother and daughter. This story perfectly captures the time you as a parent spend you’re your children. It is not about an organised event or a special day but the moment is special and can only really be illustrated in writing.
In overall view, I don’t think this story had much excitement really.

First word that came out from my tongue is ‘Wow!’. ‘The Wicker Husband’ is a classic folk story, although the tone is rather modern. I could picture it all, felt like I was a kid again being read a bedtime story which had a nice flow, nice rhythm, and nice little twist.
Actually, I loved the moment where the ugly girl tried to suggest what needed fixing around the house and her wicker husband did not like it. The underlying anger and determination of the ugly girl shows a strength that ultimately too would have irritated the village women.
As a conclusion, this story is one of a great short fiction story I've ever read with a sad pathetic life of an ugly girl yet given "unconditonal love" of the wicker husband that cause controversies and jealousies of all "others". In my opinion, this story reminds us about people’s attitude which is people never learn to do what is good and right for each other. Otherwise, they remained selfish and wicked.

‘My Friend Luke’… How great! I loved Luke! What a strange, idiosyncratic, hilarious little man! Luke's behaviour on the bus had resonances of Mr Bean and had me chuckling throughout. There were a couple of contradictions in the story which at the end seemed to have been resolved satisfactorily at the end. First was the fact that when Luke's salary was docked, his wife took their son to a more expensive school. Next was the question which screamed of at me at the end of the story, and which two contributors have asked questions about. Why was the Arab in a position to let Luke into his own home? Answer: He was shagging Luke's wife, unpleasant though she might have sounded. Luke was definitely being cuckolded and there's a very strong chance that the child was the Arab's. I 'm a story teller who collects stories, reshapes them and rewrites them for telling in public. I shall definitely work on Luke and possibly, just possibly, I might make him kill the Arab at the end. Only problem is, they seem to have lobotomised Luke, and I wonder if he will have the guts to do it.

Overall, I liked it, but I wonder why the Arab would be at Luke's home. Why would the man's employer have a key to his house? The conclusion also seemed to imply that more than just Luke's wife, son, and boss live at his home. It made me think Luke's life is imaginary. Maybe he lives in some sort of asylum or mental hospital. Can anyone explain that for me?

i had read an article about broadband...

Broadband is also known as 'wideband'. It is a term used to compare frequency bandwidth. These broadband frequencies can transmit more data and at a higher speed than narrowband frequencies. Broadband is capable of carrying multiple voice, video or data channels simultaneously. Each channel will take up a different frequency or specific time slot on the cable. 'Guardbands' (empty spaces) exist between the channels to make sure that each channel does not interfere with the other. Broadcast television, cable television, microwave, satellite, wireless phones and other communication devices are examples of broadband technologies. These technologies are capable of carrying a great deal of information in a short amount of time. Cable television (CATV), broadband describes the ability to carry 30 or more TV channels and is synonymous with wideband.
On the other hand, a broadband network is a network that uses multiple carrier frequencies to transmit multiplexed signals on a single cable. Several networks may coexist on a single cable without interfering with one another. As for your information, BPS (Bits-Per-Second) is a measurement of how fast data is moved from one place to another.
How about ‘bandwidth’? Bandwidth can be defined as the amount of data that can be sent from one computer to another through a particular connection in a certain amount of time. The more bandwidth available, the faster you are able to access information.
In addition, a broadband router allows you to share your connection with and between multiple computers. It uses a technique called NAT (Network Address Translation) to share your IP address assigned by your cable provider with all your computers. Broadband routers also provide features such as firewalls to make your computers secure while on the Internet.

Have you seen the video for David Archuleta’s new single "A Little Too Not Over You"? There was a lot of criticism over his video for "Crush" since people said he wasn’t convincing as a guy who is crushing on someone. Did you find it more genuine this time? In my opinion, I think it’s an exellent choice for his second single. It contains all the right elements, a great melody, a great hook and of course outstanding vocals from David himself. This is a much better song than Crush, and will be a bigger hit. As for the video I think they did a great job. The video is more mature this time because the subject matter in this song is more serious. I have watched it over and over and I love it.
Moreover, I think the video enhances the song adding more emotions into it. When Crush came out, people weren’t sure about the potential of the song with the clean cut video. ‘A little too not over you’ is a radio friendly catchy waltz song. It will do well like Crush considering there are tons of lousy worse songs on radio hitting the charts high. As a conclusion, I love this video and think this song will do very well on the radio. I foresee a long future for David.

i had read an article about how to cope with anger...

Since anger is one of the leading problems in society, we must learn how to cope with it. There is not one time in our lives that we all have not experienced anger and maybe even acted out of control. When someone hurts us, irritates, aggravates, harass, threatens, or let us down we call get mad. Anger is either our worst enemy or our best friend. For example if another person threatens us and we act out in anger in a managed way, most likely we are going to have good results. Likewise, too much of aggression or complete loss of control in a fit of anger puts our opponent in a winning position. Success in all ventures and protection from harm are the results of holding the reins of our thoughts and emotions strongly. Such overall control helps us deal with all kinds of problems such as financial as well as health-related. The confused state of fury is not only dangerous to our physical well-being, but also aggravates all our existing problems.
Therefore, when we know how to deal with emotions and feelings we are on the road to success. There is nothing more rewarding than feeling a sense of control and achievement, and when you feel this repeatedly you are teaching yourself a self-control. It is important to seek help, finding someone that you can trust to help you deal with your emotions. I think this can help you find yourself and a way to control your behaviors.
Here are some tips on how to cope with the anger:
    1. Become Aware of what precipitates your anger.
    2. Monitor the feelings and bodily sensations you experience when you're becoming angry
    3. Change the thoughts that trigger anger, interpreting the situation from a different (less provocative) point of view.
    4. Write down angry thoughts.
    5. Identify and express the feelings that precede anger.
    6. Respond assertively.
    7. Relax.
    8. Relinquish your anger.

Have you ever wondered why a clear blue sky puts you in a good mood? Or how the off-white walls of your office seem to put you to sleep? It's not your imagination. Studies show that colors have a profound effect on our emotions. So how can you harness color to aid in your personal mood boosting? Colors can definitely affect our moods. In the morning, I usually want to see something lighter so my day will be easy and light. How about you? Does color affect the way you perceive things? Does it affect your mood? Does it make you feel gloomy when you see black color or dark brown?

In my opinion, I totally agree that colors can give an impact to our moods because they can invoke some very strong memories. For example, when you think of the color red you may think of strength hand nobility, vitality and power. So if you want to feel a confident boost perhaps you should wear that red suit to your job interview or the red dress to the party you are nervous about. It is also the color of passion and sexuality of conquest and success. If wearing red doesn't give you a little confidence boost I don't know what will. Red seems to have the greatest emotional impact of all colors. Surround yourself with red and you will be on your way to living your life to the fullest.

During Middle Ages and prior to that people could live without the use of money that is application of barter system. Now even though we have plastic money, it is the money that is the medium of exchange and hence this importance. Money is very important to survive. Unfortunately, it cannot give you everything. Happiness and possessing money are two altogether different things. Is it true money is more for survival and offers us more choices in life? It would be great to arrive at a status where we don't have to worry about money but "how much is enough" is a big question. In my opinion, money is not everything. But then, without money we can do nothing. Money is never too much. but sometimes in order to earn money, we pay something more important such as time, emotions and youth. That’s totally not profitable.

When talking about money, always balance the importance of it by the eternal goals it can help you attain. Remember to comment that money is only a tool. The motivation behind getting money is to help you achieve your dreams and visions in life. Therefore, perhaps it is also a good time for you to share your view on life, your view on how to motivate yourself towards your goals in life and how you manage to overcome obstacles.

This movie was not that bad, but I was still expecting more from Jim Carrey. This film had all the potential to be a great movie, with a good message, however it fell short. The movie begins with Carl (Jim Carrey,) a man who does not enjoy his life by going through the same old routine day after day. He is dead-set on saying “no” and avoids every opportunity to make social contact with anyone. He even rejects his ‘friends’. Eventually his best friend gets tired with Carl's attitude and indifference. We learn that Carl is secluded, because his wife divorced him. Carl does not stop his anti-social way of life until a random encounter with a man who only says “yes”. He tells Carl that because he says “yes” to everything, he feels alive. He tells Carl a seminar on saying “yes” made him what he is and urges Carl to go. Carl stays reluctant, but resolves to attend a seminar. After the seminar Carl, with some prodding, starts to say “yes” to everything. Carl's life improves by saying yes to anything he is offered. He finds himself a girlfriend, reconnects with his friends, and becomes happier.
Sadly, there was a lot of content in the movie that was not needed and offensive. Carl trains himself to say yes in order to improve his life, rather than doing it because he thinks it's a correct life decision. To everything which Carl says “yes” is beneficial to him later. God's name was definitely not respected in the movie along with other cuss words. Carl finds himself in odd situations that are definitely less than wholesome, because of his new outlook on life, and the film earns its PG-13 rating.
The comedy was good, overall, with points that were offensive to Christians. In the end, the movie becomes slightly better as Carl's carefree attitude catches up with him. Carl's girlfriend leaves him, because she feels Carl has lied to her. This seems to be one of the few things Carl agrees to because he wants to, not solely for the sake of saying “yes.” Chasing after what he thinks life is worth living for, Carl attempts to get his girlfriend back, but she only avoids him. Later, Carl is tempted to “stay the night” at the apartment of his ex-wife. However, by now, Carl has figured out that only saying “yes” hurts him as much as it has benefited him. He resists the temptation and leaves before anything progresses. In the end, he shows his girlfriend he cares for her, but wants to keep their relationship slow. It ends on this note leaving the viewers with a few loose ends and a somewhat unclear message. Hopefully, Jim Carry can get back to the type of humor he had in his earlier movies, in the future.

i had read an article about 'can the US live in peace with its gun?' and i commented on the article.

You may not be well informed about similar situations elsewhere. Germany has had several sizable shootings lately and their gun laws don't work anything like those in the US. There are rampages anywhere that a messed-up, lethally angry person can latch hold of a gun. And that's most places.

Even in Britain, the home of the Draconian Gun Law, gun violence is not unheard of. The cops have had to arm themselves more heavily of late. Gun laws won't stop guns from being in bad places in your society - they'll only stop law abiding people from carrying.

Pull the plug on this drip-drip torture of MPs
Yes, some expenses claims are outrageous. But politicians pay a high price, personal and financial, to stay in public life

Sounds like an article from someone too close to politicians to me. Those not in public office asked to travel anywhere anytime for our employers in order to make ends meet during a recession can claim few expenses - no home, no furnishings only subsistence - food and lodgings. All else is taxed. have rarely read such nonsense. People are queuing up to be MPs. The gravy train is driver-less and out of control. It may be "within the rules" to claim a bath plug from the taxpayer, but an MP doesn't have to do so. If they feel the need then the taxpayer is entitled to protest.

Embarrassment and shame, what's the difference?

In our society too many people feel mere embarrassment when they should be feeling shame. This is the result of a change in attitudes about wrongdoing; it is not doing wrong that worries people, but being caught. Shame is a moral emotion, whereas embarrassment is not. To burp audibly at a formal dinner is not a breach of ethics - it is not a sin or an immoral act - but it will make one feel abashed. Shame, by contrast, relates to self-awareness that, in the actual or possible judgment of others, one has committed a significant breach of moral code. Note that one can feel ashamed even if no one else knows what one has done; a lively moral sense is enough to make one ashamed in complete privacy. But it is not possible to be embarrassed unless there is, has been or will be an actual witness. Only think of how you behave in private, doing what would cover you in blushes if someone saw you, but because no one else sees you you do it without concern.

There are other circumstances in which embarrassment occurs. Two people can feel it when alone together and recognise that they are falling in love.

Embarrassment also occurs when people do not or cannot say what should be said, or say things that should have been left unsaid. We feel embarrassment less as we mature. That is the most useful thing about it: its disappearance marks our progress towards self-confidence, one of the greatest helps towards success in life.

Why maternal love is a big deal??

The Ancient Greeks ignored it, but maternal love is the only love that is genuinely unconditional, asking nothing in return

The Ancient Greeks identified several varieties of love: the love of parents for children; love between friends; the affection of comrades who have experienced much together; charitable love for humanity; obsessive love; erotic love; playful love. They gave each its own name and story. They thought that “mania” - what we call infatuation - was a punishment sent by the gods; and they prized “philia”, the love between friends, above all other kinds.

Interestingly, they did not single out the only kind of love that is genuinely unconditional, asking nothing in return and sometimes getting nothing in return: maternal love. Maternal attachment has been a constant since our remotest ancestors lived in trees.

Mother love is biological, though it is not universal. This is no contradiction: not all women have the instinct. But in the ordinary course of events the clever pharmaceutical mixtures that course through a pregnant woman's systems switch on a repertoire of behaviours that amount not merely to loving but to being in love with their babies when the latter come squalling into the world. And thereafter the baby, child, youth and adult can take a great deal for granted about the lengths to which his or her mother will go - sacrificing much, accepting much, enduring much, fearing much, hoping much, sometimes weeping, sometimes feeling absurd quantities of pride and pleasure - and all with little thanks

  75. How Can I Deal With My Anger?

Because anger can be powerful, managing it is sometimes challenging. It takes plenty of self-awareness and self-control to manage angry feelings. And these skills take time to develop.

Self-awareness is the ability to notice what you're feeling and thinking, and why. Little kids aren't very aware of what they feel, they just act it out in their behavior. That's why you see them having tantrums when they're mad. But teens have the mental ability to be self-aware. When you get angry, take a moment to notice what you're feeling and thinking.

Self-control is all about thinking before you act. It puts some precious seconds or minutes between feeling a strong emotion and taking an action you'll regret.

Together, self-awareness and self-control allow you to have more choice about how to act when you're feeling an intense emotion like anger.
