  1. i read about an eagle has landed with a thud
after crashing through the windshield of a tractor-trailer on a Nevada highway. State wildlife officials said Wednesday that a 15 pound golden eagle with a 7 foot wing span has a swollen head but otherwise appears unhurt after crashing into a Florida truck driver's big rig on Monday.it is the first story in the history and the eagle's side of the head is swollen, but there does not appear to be any permanent damage.

  2. Steps of how to love

today i have read about this article.I think this article very interested. And i want share with u all...

    Say it-
When you say the words "I Love You", they should carry with them the desire to show someone that you love them, not what you simply want to feel. When you say it make sure you really mean it and are willing to do anything for that special person.

    -Empathize-
Put yourself in someone else's shoes. Rather than impose your own expectations or attempt to control them, try to understand how they feel, where they come from, and who they are. Realize how they could also love you back just as well.

    -Love unconditionally-
If you cannot love another person without attaching stipulations, then it is not love at all, but deep-seated opportunism (one who makes the most of an advantage, often unmindful of others). If your interest is not in the other person as such, but rather in how that person can enhance your experience of life, then it is not unconditional. If you have no intention of improving that person’s life, or allowing that person to be themselves and accepting them as they are, and not who you want them to be, then you are not striving to love them unconditionally.

    -Expect nothing in return-
That doesn't mean you should allow someone to mistreat or undervalue you. It means that giving love does not guarantee receiving love. Try loving just for the sake of love. Realize that someone may have a different way of showing his or her love for you, do not expect to be loved back in exactly the same way.

    -Realize it can be lost-
If you realize that you can lose the one you love, then you have a greater appreciation of what you have. Think how lucky you are to have someone to love.

  3. WOMAN "HATE" ABOUT MAN

The relationship between men and women has always been a love-hate type. This article will describe what a woman finds most annoying in her partner.
Though women publicly admit that they like men who are strong, secretly they like a man on whom she can wield certain amount of power.
It is also likely (majority of the times) that a woman would not like a person who would show insensitivity towards her feelings. This is a mistake that many men make and women do not like this attitude from them. There are many other factors that women generally do not like in men such as arrogance, lies, submissive behavior, etc. Never ever show a woman that you have a weak character. This is one of the traits that women dislike in a man. It is a mistake that many men make by making a woman feel that he is ready to fall at her feet. Contrary to a man thinking that a woman would appreciate it, women get annoyed with men who are too submissive and ready to do anything for her. This does not mean that a woman does not want a sensitive man who is open about his feelings, but it does mean that a woman still wants a man to be his own person, think for himself and claim what he wants from a relationship.
A woman always likes a man who has a big heart and ready to share and care. A self-centered man is rarely loved by women and more often than not will crave for female company.
Manipulative attitude is something that women dislike in a man. Hence, try to be as open in your behavior as possible and at the same time do not fall prey if she displays manipulative behavior. Keeping these points in mind, you can win over a woman. Remember that love blossoms slowly and you need to give your woman time and space if you really want to win her over..

  4. hye everyone...
today i want share some tips about 5 FACTORS DIET....
a)from the recommended five meals a day, with recipes that contain no more than five ingredients, or take no more than five minutes of prep time and five minutes of cooking time.

b)a five-day exercise plan, which -- no surprise - consists of five exercises you do for 5 minutes each. And, there's a "cheat day" once a week, when you can eat anything you like

c)nutritionist Cathy Nonas, MS, RD, believes this approach hits all the right notes for orchestrating successful weight control for many people

d)healthy plan that incorporates all the food categories in appropriate proportions. The exercise is a combination of cardio and strength training, and you don't need any expensive equipment to do it

e)try to convince yourself otherwise is somewhat misleading

  5. i read about the Chronicles of Narnia. The adventure continues as producer/director Andrew Adamson teams with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely to tell the tale of the dashing Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) -- who sets out to defeat a tyrannical king who has overtaken Narnia and secure his rightful place on the throne. One year has passed since the events of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and now the kings and queens of that land have returned to make a shocking discovery. Though by their calendars it has been only 12 months since their last voyage into Narnia, the four children are aghast to realize that 1,300 years have passed in the wondrous alternate universe. The Golden Age of Narnia has come to an end, and now the malevolent King Miraz rules over the land without mercy or compassion. Miraz is determined to ensure that the power stays in his bloodline, even if that means killing his nephew Prince Caspian so that Miraz's own son will be next in line for the throne. Fortunately Prince Caspian has the Narnians on his side, and with a little help from the kings, the queens, and some loyal old friends, he may be able to ensure that peace and prosperity are restored on the once-beautiful realm of Narnia. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

  6. In Sonnet 18,the speaker opens the poem with a question addressed to the beloved: "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?" The next eleven lines are devoted to such a comparison. In line 2, the speaker stipulates what mainly differentiates the young man from the summer's day: he is "more lovely and more temperate." Summer's days tend toward extremes: they are shaken by "rough winds"; in them, the sun ("the eye of heaven") often shines "too hot," or too dim. And summer is fleeting: its date is too short, and it leads to the withering of autumn, as "every fair from fair sometime declines." The final quatrain of the sonnet tells how the beloved differs from the summer in that respect: his beauty will last forever ("Thy eternal summer shall not fade...") and never die. In the couplet, the speaker explains how the beloved's beauty will accomplish this feat, and not perish because it is preserved in the poem, which will last forever; it will live "as long as men can breathe or eyes can see."i loved to read this poem as it is so emotional and touching.

  7. To My Friends Who Are...........SINGLE
Love is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it eludes you. But
if you just let it fly, it will come to you when you least expect it. Love can
make you happy but often it hurts, but love's only special when you give it
to someone who is really worth it. So take your time and choose the best.
To My Friends Who Are............NOT SO SINGLE
Love isn't about becoming somebody else's 'perfect person.' It's about
finding someone who helps you become the best person you can be.
To My Friends Who Are............PLAYBOY/GIRL TYPE
Never say 'I love you' if you don't care. Never talk about feelings if they
aren't there. Never touch a life if you mean to break a heart. Never look
in the eye when all you do is lie. The cruelest thing a guy can do to a girl is to let her fall in love when he doesn't intend to catch her fall and it works both ways...
    To My Friends Who Are............MARRIED
Love is not about 'it's your fault', but 'I'm sorry.' Not 'where are you',
but 'I'm right here.' Not 'how could you', but 'I understand.' Not 'I
wish you were', but 'I'm thankful you are.'

    To My Friends Who Are............ENGAGED
The true measure of compatibility is not the years spent together but how
good you are for each other.
    To My Friends Who Are............HEARTBROKEN
Heartbreaks last as long as you want and cut as deep as you allow them to
go. The challenge is not how to survive heartbreaks but to learn from them.
    To My Friends Who Are............NAIVE
How to be in love: Fall but don't stumble, be consistent but not too
persistent, s hare and never be unfair, understand and try not to demand,
and get hurt but never keep the pain.
    To My Friends Who Are............POSSESSIVE
It breaks your heart to see the one you love happy with someone else but
it's more painful to know that the one you love is unhappy with you.
To My Friends Who Are............AFRAID TO CONFESS
Love hurts when you break up with someone. It hurts even more when
someone breaks up with you. But love hurts the most when the person you
love has no idea how you feel.

To My Friends Who Are............STILL HOLDING ON
A sad thing about life is when you meet someone and fall in love, only to
find out in the end that it was never meant to be and that you have wasted years on someone who wasn't worth it. If he isn't worth it now he's not
going to be worth it a year or 10 years from now. Let go.....
    TO ALL MY FRIENDS.......
My wish for you is a man/women whose love is honest, strong, mature,
never-changing, uplifting, protective, encouraging, rewarding and unselfish.

  8. This incident happened recently in North Texas .

A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit. She died on Wednesday.

The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of coke she drank from, not using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis.

Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the upper part of soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouses and trans ported straight to the shops without being cleaned.

A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets (i.e).. full of germs and bacteria. So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident..

So, before we drink or do something, make sure we already clean it well. This can avoid tragedy happen on us.

  9. In this story 'I Cannot Remember my Mother' is a gentle nostalgic poem written by 'Guru' Rabindranath Tagore. Tagore is one of the greatest poets of modern India (1861 - 1941). The national anthem of India was composed by him. His song 'Amaar Sonar Bangla' is the national anthem of Bangladesh. He has composed more than 2000 songs and a collection of his stories poems and essays etc comes to 26 volumes. He wrote in Bengali. His works have now been translated into many languages. He started the experimental school in Shantiniketan. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature for his collection of poems 'Gitanjali'.
The parents of Rabindranath were very wealthy and had an active social life. Rabindranath had many brothers and sisters to take care of him. His mother passed away when he was still young. In this poem, he expresses his inability to actually recall the face or the features of his mother. But often a smell or a tune triggered off in him happy moments that he shared with his mother.
When he looks at his playthings he seems to be able to hear a tune. Perhaps his mother often sang the same song as she rocked him to sleep in the cradle. He recalls this tune as he touches his old toys. In autumn, the Shiuli tree in Bengal blossoms into fragrant tiny flowers which are used for worship. His mother would string the flowers for the morning service at the temple. So the powerful fragrance of the Shiuli flowers would trigger off happy memories of his mother.
He can recall the quiet serene gaze of his mother when he looks at the vast expanse of the clear blue sky. The simple lines of the poem eloquently reveal the deep seated emotional bonding that the poet had with his mother. It makes us realise the great impact her quiet dignity had on the poet even at that tender age, for the poet recalls experiences of his infancy and pre - school days.

  11. It’s Not Just What You Eat...

It’s also how you eat. Changing your eating habits could help cut your risk of digestive illnesses:

Take meal times seriously Treat them as sections of the day in their own right, not things to be slotted in around work.

Take your time Eat slowly to give your system a better chance of digesting the food. Sitting upright will also help. Sip drinks to avoid swallowing air.

Chew well This releases enzymes that aid thorough digestion.

Eat early A good breakfast kick-starts your metabolism for the day, while overloading the digestive systems late at night can lead to bloating.

Don’t miss meals A lack of food in the system can cause excessive gas.

  13. Headphone User? Listen to This

Headphones seem to be getting smaller and smaller. But are the ones that sit inside your ears worse for you than traditional ones that sit over your ears?

They can be, if your music is too loud. Earphones pushed into the ear are going to deliver a greater sound pressure level compared with normal ones, says Kelvin Wakeham, deputy head of audiology services at Mid Devon Primary Care Trust in the UK. And this could increase the risk of damage.

If you hear ringing in your ears or things sound muffled after listening, you've overdone it. Usually the problem subsides, but listening to loud music regularly, with any type of headset, could lead to permanent hearing loss.

Every set of earphones is different, so it's hard to give recommendations, but recent research suggests limiting use to an hour or less per day at no more than 60% volume for over-the-ear styles - and even less for earbuds. Never sleep with them on and take plenty of breaks.

  16. HOW TO BECOME SUCCESS PERSON..

    Get into a positive mindset
Spend time each day to appreciate all the things you have. When you wake up, feel grateful that you have been given another day. When you’re driving to work, be grateful for the roads and the car that gets you there. When you arrive at work, be grateful for your co-workers who enlighten your day and make your job easier. When you have your lunch, be grateful for the food you have been given. Soon, these feelings of gratitude it will become a part of you and your path to success will be a bright one. Many people tend to focus on the negative things in their life and thus they are given more negative things. When you fill yourself with positive feelings, more positive things are attracted to you.

    Visualize the things you want.
Close your eyes and visualize already having it. Feel the feelings of already having it. The law of attraction will begin the creative process of forming that thought into a thing, a reality. You’re subconscious will become more aware of opportunities that will bring you the things you think about.

Have faith in what you can do.
Martin Luther King Jr. said it best: “Take the first step of faith, you don’t have to see it you just have to take it”. Recognize doubt and reverse it with faith.

    Take action.
Do all that can be done, every day. That said, know when you're trying to do too much. You want to be efficient, not stressed all the time. You can not act in the past or future so focus your actions in your preset space.

Learn from your past experience, and try not to repeat your mistakes.
If you were not successful in achieving something earlier then, analize the reasons for you failure,Please don't cry over a spilled milk, its already on the floor go get some new milk.

  17. wHEN YOU LOVE SOMEONE
When you love someone so deep inside,
It seems like it's so easy to hide.
You've loved him for so very long,
You would think he could do no wrong.

Every day you would hope and pray,
That he would always stay this way.
He treated you like you should be treated,
You thought your life was finally completed.

You thought your love was growing true,
And then one day it was all so blue.
He started putting you down and it hurt,
You thought all you were to him was dirt.

He started ignoring you and you wondered why,
All you wanted to do was curl up and die.
You thought your relationship would never end,
But that was all so fake and pretend.

One night he was so sweet to you,
You thought all those things were maybe untrue,
Two days later he was back the same,
You thought you were the one to blame.

He thought the relationship was getting too serious
And that you had become a little too curious.
By this time you knew it wouldn't last,
All the nice things he said were in the past.

You thought that you would marry him some day,
But this time God wanted to get his way.
You wanted things back how they were before,
But you knew this couldn't happen anymore.

It was a Saturday night about ten o'clock,
You heard the news and it wasn't a shock.
You knew this was going to happen soon,
As you laid there and cried in the pale lit moon

  19. SUMMARY OF TWILIGHT NOVEL
I had read this story. Now i want to share with all of u.Isabella "Bella" Swan moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona to rainy Forks, Washington to live with her father, Charlie, while her mother, Renée, travels with her new husband, Phil Dwyer, a minor league baseball player. Bella attracts much attention at her new school and is quickly befriended by several students. Much to her dismay, several boys compete for shy Bella's attention.

When Bella is seated next to Edward Cullen in class on her first day of school, Edward seems utterly repulsed by her. However, over the next few days Edward warms up to her, and their newfound relationship reaches a climax when Bella is nearly run over by a fellow classmate's van in the school parking lot. Seemingly defying the laws of reality, Edward saves her life when he instantaneously appears next to her and stops the van with his bare hands.

Bella becomes hellbent on figuring out how Edward saved her life, and constantly pesters him with questions. After tricking a family friend, Jacob Black, into telling her local tribal legends, Bella concludes that Edward and his family are vampires who drink animal blood rather than human. Edward confesses that he initially avoided Bella because the scent of her blood was so desirable to him. Over time, Edward and Bella fall in love.

Their relationship is thrown into chaos when another vampire coven sweeps into Forks. James, a tracker vampire who is intrigued by the Cullens' relationship with a human, wants to hunt Bella for sport. The Cullens attempt to distract the tracker by splitting up Bella and Edward, and Bella is sent to hide in a hotel in Phoenix. There, Bella receives a phone call from James, who claims he is holding her mother captive. When Bella surrenders herself, James attacks her, but Edward, along with the other Cullens, rescues Bella and kills James. Once they realize that James has bitten Bella's hand, Edward sucks the venom from her system before it can spread and transform her into a vampire, and she is then sent to a hospital. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their school prom and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, which Edward refuses

  21. Attention to all my friends.do read this article"A teacher's tears".The student-teacher bond can be fraught with heartache but for those who persevered to the end, the rewards far outweigh the sacrifices.

I RECALL with special fondness the years I spent as a teacher at a particularly challenging school in the 1980s.

It was a secondary school for boys lacking the academic qualifications to enrol in better schools. Most of them came from poor families, broken homes, charity institutions and various orphanages in town.

Poverty and neglect in their everyday lives led to serious disciplinary problems in school. Some had been left to fend for themselves from a very young age, and were streetwise and wayward by the time they reached adolescence.

Navigating the uncouth student culture proved to be extremely daunting for most teachers. Being foul-mouthed by default, the worst of these kids seemed incapable of uttering a complete sentence without piling on some form of vulgarity. It was common practice for a student to let loose with strings of mumbled expletives when picked to answer questions or to read passages in class.

Rather than taking it personally, the more attentive teachers were aware that such was the students’ way of venting frustration over their lack of achievement.

Bad language, however, was a minor irritation compared to the rampant fights that plagued our schoolyard. Violence was often instantaneous, and the cause and effect equally unpredictable.

There was the usual bullying and taunting of the weak, gang-related skirmishes, picking fights to gain popularity, or simply taking out stress and misery on one another. No doubt more than a handful struggled with anger issues, but among these students, aggressive behaviour served mainly as a camouflage for emotional turmoil.

They preferred caning to counselling, since accepting corporal punishment made one a hero among peers, whereas a good counsellor could ferret out their vulnerabilities and trigger a tearful breakdown.

With all the troubles that abound, it was inevitable for a teacher to assume extra responsibilities besides teaching. Such frequent asides range from rounding up truants to breaking up fights and checking 40 school bags for stolen items.

Faced with overwhelming disciplinary problems, we were sometimes compelled to send for the erring parties’ parents or guardians. To make matters worst, some of these “responsible” adults were also prone to violent, abusive outbursts in full view of school authorities.

One such episode involved a distraught father who resorted to hitting and punching his child with such fervour that it took two male teachers to restrain him.

For those of us struggling day in day out to nurture this man’s son (and others like him), the shame and frustration etched on his face really touched a nerve.

To survive the many challenges in this unforgiving school, a teacher must be prepared to walk that extra mile. Every so often amateur teachers call it quits after just one day, while an easy way out for battle-hardened veterans was to close one eye and adopt a lackadaisical attitude. After all, it is hard to give up a job with a stable source of income.

For those of us who persevered in the compounded role of educator, disciplinarian and counsellor, we were kept on our toes at all times by a class of 40 with very short attention spans, who were fidgety, lethargic and always up to no good.

We had to be endlessly resourceful and innovative in order to motivate and connect with our students, at the same time wishing for 10 pairs of eyes to quash any mischief before it starts. Though the learning curve was steep and their attitudes defiant, most students eventually responded to a tough-love approach. To earn their grudging respect was half the battle won.

On bad days, one felt like a drowning person grasping at straws, or a lone soldier fighting a losing battle.

Fortunately the camaraderie among colleagues provided much solace. The staff room became a refuge where we could gather to share stories of success and defeat, tell light-hearted jokes, and exchange recipes.

We humoured ourselves with the saying, “if you cannot beat them, join them”, and reassured one another that these delinquent students needed dedicated teachers like us more than those in elite schools.

Honestly, we dared not aim for the stars with our charges. But we held on to such modest hopes as to mould them into decent human beings, and to give them a fighting chance to live an honest life. Out of compassion and responsibility, we stayed our course.

Over the years, a decent number of students emerged successful. Some joined the ranks of professionals in education, banking, and sales; others ventured into small businesses, gained ownership of food outlets or became hawkers. Still others managed to earn a decent living working as lorry attendants, security guards or unskilled construction workers.

One even became a medium in a Chinese temple. Sadly but inevitably, there were those who turned to crime. One was hanged for murder and another hanged himself in prison not so long ago.

In the course of my teaching career, I came across a guide book called Teaching without Tears. But surely those who rendered their hearts and souls in service of future generations did shed some tears along the way.

For dedicated teachers, the student-teacher bond is often fraught with heartache and disappointments. But for the ones that persevered until the end, the rewards far outweigh the sacrifices.

THE human body comprises of a skeleton that forms the framework for the various organs and other body structures. The skeleton is composed of various bones. Bone is made up of various minerals like calcium and phosphorus, and protein, which make the bone hard and dense.

There are two types of bone – compact and spongy bone. Each bone in the body contains some of each type. Compact bone appears hard and solid, and is found on the outside of bones. Spongy bone is found on the inside of bones and is filled with holes.

In order to maintain its bone density, the body requires adequate amounts of calcium, other minerals and vitamin D as well as hormones like parathyroid hormones, oestrogen, testosterone, calcitonin and growth hormone. Vitamin D is absorbed from the food consumed and is also produced by the skin in the presence of sunlight.

The bone is in a continuous process of being broken down and reformed or remodelled. During this process, small areas of bone are removed and new bone deposited in its place. This enables the bone to adjust to the different bodily requirements.

Remodelling affects the shape and density of bone. When a person is young and growing, the bone increases in both length and width. When a person is older, the bone does not increase in length but may sometimes increase its width.

As bone formation is greater than is broken down in the young adult, bone density increases progressively until about the age of 30 years when it is at its peak. After that, bone breakdown is greater than bone formation, resulting in loss of bone density. This small amount of loss continues for the rest of life. If there is an ability to maintain an adequate amount of bone formation, the bone density continues to decrease, resulting in the bone becoming more fragile and eventually osteoporotic.

Bone loss increases after menopause when the ovaries stop producing estrogen, which protects against bone loss. A little bit of loss of bone does not usually cause problems. However, excessive bone loss results in osteoporosis which is characterised by compromised bone strength leading to an increased risk of fracture. Although the bones are still of the same size, the outside walls of compact bone become thinner and the holes in spongy bone become larger, thereby weakening the bone considerably.

The condition of a woman’s skeleton depends on two factors – the amount of bone attained before the menopause and the rate of bone loss after.

  23. health topic; osteoporosiOsteoporosis makes your bones weak and more likely to break. Anyone can develop osteoporosis, but it is common in older women. As many as half of all women and a quarter of men older than 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis.

    Risk factors include

    1)Getting older
    2)Being small and thin
3)Having a family history of osteoporosis
    4)Taking certain medicines
5)Being a white or Asian woman

  25. Parents battling to keep their seriously ill baby alive have failed to overturn a ruling allowing him to die.

The nine-month-old boy has a rare metabolic disorder and has suffered brain damage and respiratory failure.

The couple had appealed against a judge's ruling on Thursday that it was in the boy's best interests to withdraw his "life sustaining treatment".

They said they were "deeply distressed" by the decision and the life of their "beautiful boy" was worth preserving.

In a statement, they said they knew of only one other child with their son's condition and everyone was in "unknown territory".

"We are and always will be convinced that despite his desperate problems his life is worthwhile and is worth preserving as long as it is possible to do so without causing him undue pain.

"That was the real argument between us and the doctors - they think his life is intolerable and that his disability is such that his life has little purpose; but we, along with some of the nurses, believed that he experiences pleasure and that he has long periods where he was relaxed and pain free.

"Our belief in his humanity and inherent worth justified us taking every step to support him."

They said the plan was now to withdraw his treatment within the next 24 hours and they planned to "enjoy what little time" they had left with their only son.

  27. Nutrition Benefits of Eating Plums

I had read an article on the Nutrition Benefits of Eating Plums.Actually, plums are high in neochlorogenic and chlorogenic acid that function as anti-oxidant. Besides, plums also helps in the production and absorption of iron in body that lead to better blood circulation and further lead to the growth of healthy tissues. Regular consumption of plums will prevent macular degeneration and other infection of the eye in the long run. In a research, they have found that plums have anti-cancer agents that help prevent the growth of cancerous cells and tumor in our body. Eating plums also reduces the chances of contracting heart disease because plums have certain cleansing agents that keep the blood pure and prevent the complication of the heart.

  29. Ludwig van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven , (16 December 1770 – 26 March 1827) was a German composer and pianist. He was a crucial figure in the transitional period between the Classical and Romantic eras in Western classical music, and remains one of the most acclaimed and influential composers of all time.

Born in Bonn, then in the Electorate of Cologne in western Germany, he moved to Vienna in his early twenties and settled there, studying with Joseph Haydn and quickly gaining a reputation as a virtuoso pianist. Beethoven's hearing gradually deteriorated beginning in his twenties, yet he continued to compose, and to conduct and perform, even after he was completely deaf.

  30. There are many cases always happen around us. Those are stealing, killing, robbing, and sexual abusement and so on. Recently, the police discovers that some people hang the 2-way mirror to watch the girls in hotels, restrooms and motels. It is very dangerous to all girls. These people maybe record your condition when changing clothes. The police notice that this matter is very serious, so they try to find out some solutions.

Now, A policewoman who travels all over the U.S. and gives seminars and techniques for businesswomen passed this on. When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing
and rooms, how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror? 2-way mirror is a mirror that people can see you, but you cannot see them.

There is a simple test to be conducted to check what type of these mirrors. Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP be tween your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, FOR IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR! 'No Space, Leave the Place'.

Therefore, every time you see a mirror in anywhere, please remember to try it lo. This test just costs your few seconds time. We should always take care of ourselves in everywhere because this world is full of dangers.

  31. Do you feel that you have the freedom of laughter? Everyone has that freedom or choice. The choice we make whether it is to laugh or not to laugh affects our lives in many different ways. I had rather discuss the positive side of laughter and the feelings you acquire from laughter. Laughter helps people to feel that they are in control of their situations and this makes them seem more manageable. It gives them a feeling of freedom from fears, anger and stress. It certainly improves the quality of life.

Laughter brings in positive emotions that can be used to help relieve stress. If we are to feel free we will have to get rid of stress.
Depression can be treated and medication taken and in most cases is effective. There is something to be added to that is you must put your mind in a positive attitude. Get your mind right and your body will follow its lead. This is where humor and laughter play a big part. It is your job to make sure that you have laughter in your daily activities. Laughter is free if you are willing to take the time to enjoy it. You need to make it a habit to include funny videos, books and etc. in your routine. These have a relaxing effect and will give the feeling of freedom. Always select entertainment, music and TV programs that will give you a list. This is where your freedom of choice makes you have a feeling of freedom.

If you do not have laughter as a daily activity, rewrite your schedule today. Soon you will enjoy the laughter that gives you a feeling of freedom.

  32. AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.
    Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:
    1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
    2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.
    3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumours.
    4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
    5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
    6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.
    7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.
    8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.
    9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
    10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.
    11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

    WHAT CANCER CELLS FEED ON:
    a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.
    b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk, cancer cells are being starved.
    c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.
    d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to no urish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).
    e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.
    12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.
    13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.
    14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.
    15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.
    16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.
(PLEASE FORWARD IT TO PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT)
This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life.

This article talks about chemotherapy as a way to combat, and to a certain extent, eliminate cancer cells. It is shown that this method is associated with many side-effects and complications, mostly being unfavourable and long-lasting. Another way to battle against cancer is to make changes to our food and drinks, which, for that, we have to go for alternatives instead of what we usually take, so as to cut off the food supply of cancer cells. This process, though not harmful to our body in the long run, but food, being a pleasure of life, the practice of this ‘substitution’ method can be a quite a suffering and sacrifice, to me at least, as we no longer have the variety of choices when it comes to food. For example, to our cup of coffee, instead of adding sugar, we add Manuka honey, you see, the building material for sugar is glucose but it is fructose for the case of Manuka honey, wouldn’t the difference cause the beverage to taste weird, I mean, can you imagine having a twist of honey in a cup of coffee? Conclusion is, prevention is better than cure, to free ourselves from all the troubles that we have to face if we are affected by cancer, live a healthy life!

  33. EMOTIONAL BANGGAGE....

    Do You Have Emotional Baggage?

Baggage is emotional turmoil caused by some issue in someone's past.

Guys are happy to help out their girlfriends with emotional issues. But if thebaggage becomes apparent too early in the relationship, then a guy will probably bail. Also, baggage causes people to pressure on or damage a relationship, so it may be doomed from the outset.

I think everyone has some form of baggage. We need to purge that baggage, or manage it, in order for a relationship to work.

    TYPE OF BAGGAGE:
    1. Ex-boyfriend Baggage:
This is the most common type of baggage I've seen: a woman just can't get over her ex-boyfriend. It's not that I'm being compared to him-I don't even think I get that far. Some women hold on to the idea that the ex may come back into her life. Or they just don't have resolution after the relationship goes sour.

    2. White Whale Baggage:
I've referred to the "white whale" from Moby Dick. The white whale is the prize of the character Ahab, who lost his leg in a prior battle with the whale. At the center of the book, is Ahab's burning desire for revenge. Our white whales are those people we have been pursuing, even if we've lost some battles with them. They are that person we never get, or get sometimes, or had for a while-they are always there, and we are perpetually feeling close to winning.

    3. Appetite Baggage

    4. Family Baggage:
It's tough to date a girl who has an unstable family. Sure, I know it's my job as a supportive boyfriend to help her out or let her vent if someone in her family is annoying her; but it's really tough if there are deep family issues that were never resolved. Walking into a situation like that can further damage the family. No significant other has the power to fix historical family problems.

    5.Waiting to be Hurt Baggage:
This kind of baggage causes people to interpret harmless events in the relationship, and/or things that are said as a sign that things are going to start going poorly. If someone is living in paranoia throughout the relationship, assuming things will go badly, it will eventually wear on the other person and drive them away. Also, a person who assumes they will be hurt can not trust anyone-and trust is the core of any relationship.

    6. Mystery Baggage

Any baggage will cause someone to act irrationally. So, if someone is flaky, wavers between being into you and not being interested, disappears after appearing interested, or etc, chalk it up to baggage. Baggage comes in many forms, so who knows? It's much easier for you to dismiss a disappearing guy/girl as having "too much baggage" and move on.

New 7 Wonders Foundation's seven wonders of the world
Main article: New Seven Wonders of the World
In 2001 an initiative was started by the Swiss corporation New7Wonders Foundation to choose the New Seven Wonders of the World from a selection of 200 existing monuments for profit. Twenty-one finalists were announced January 1, 2006. Egypt was not happy with the fact that the only original wonder would have to compete with the likes of the Statue of Liberty, the Sydney Opera House, and other landmarks; and called the project absurd. To solve this, Giza was named an honorary Candidate. The results were announced on July 7, 2007 in Benfica's stadium in a big ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal, and are listed here:

  35. HOW TO MAKE PINEAPPLE CHICKEN TERIYAKI?
Pineapple chicken teriyaki uses only a few basic ingredients but doesn't fall short on flavor, and it's a very easy dish to make. If you do things in the right order, you can make this entrée in the time it takes to cook the rice and have a delicious, home-cooked meal in about half an hour.Quantities are approximate. Feel free to adjust them to taste or to change the amount you make.
    The ingrediants are:
    Rice
    Water
Chicken breasts or thighs (about 2 breasts or 3-4 thighs)
    An onion
    2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1-2 bell pepper(s), any color. Green and red contrast nicely with the yellow pineapple.
A dozen or so mushrooms (optional)
One 15 oz. can of cubed pineapple in juice or about 2 cups. Drain about half the juice and drink it or use it some other time.
A tablespoon of cornstarch (more if you want a thicker sauce).
Teriyaki sauce, about half a cup or to taste for your quantity of ingredients. It's worth getting the fancy kind for this recipe.
Olive or vegetable oil for frying (2-3 Tbsp)
    so,the first steps is;
Cook some rice.Put some rice on to cook. How much depends on how many people you will be feeding, but if you're not sure, start with about two cups of uncooked rice and two cups of water. Second step, defrost the chicken. It's easiest to slice uncooked chicken if it is slightly frozen. The microwave is a good choice, but don't overdo it.Next, cut up the veggies. While the rice cooks and the chicken defrosts, cut the bell pepper(s), onion, and mushrooms into bite-sized pieces.
Check the rice and turn the heat down, if you are making it in a pot.
Slice the defrosted chicken into bite-sized pieces. Flavor and thickening.Have the teriyaki sauce and pineapple ready. If you would like to thicken the sauce, mix the cornstarch with the pineapple juice right now.
Heat the pan.Heat a large sauté pan over medium to high heat. Add some oil.Add some olive or vegetable oil to the hot pan and give it a moment to heat up. Start with the chicken.Add the chicken and start stir-frying. Onion Add the onion while the chicken still has some pink showing and stir-fry for another minute or two. About halfway through, add the minced garlic. Cook until the onion is most of the way to the consistency you want it. MushroomsAdd the mushrooms.PeppersAdd the peppers. Finally, pineapple and teriyaki sauceAdd the pineapple and cornstarch mixture and the teriyaki sauce fairly soon after the peppers go in. Don't overdo the peppers. Cook it for just enough longer to heat the pineapple through and thicken the sauce a bit. It's ok if the sauce has a consistency more like liquid than jelly.
Serve immediately over the rice that should now be ready.

  36. For Love or Money (READER DIGEST)

When it comes to sources of marital conflict, finances rank right up there, says Beryl Musser, a Canadian marriage counsellor. Before marching down the aisle, discuss these potential financial minefields.

Bank accounts Will you have joint or separate accounts? One solution: a joint account for paying bills and saving, and separate accounts for personal spending.

Paying the bills Will expenses be split? What will each spouse contribute? If one earns more than the other, how will you deal with individual purchases?

Financial values There are spenders (“You only live once”); builders (who see money as a tool to reach specific goals); givers (who spend freely on others, but often deprive themselves); and savers (the conservatives who worry about a rainy day.) Where are you and your spouse on that scale? Can you compromise?

Granted, talking about your financial expectations may not be the most romantic conversation you’ll have with your spouse, but it can, potentially, be a marriage saver..

  37. EARTHN HOUR???
YOUR LIGHT SWITCH IS YOUR VOTE
This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.

For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes,

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.

  38. HOW TO BE A GOOD LEADER

    Know your team
At some point, every day, walk around the office and say "Hi" to everyone who works for you. If you're not in the office that day, call and see how people are.

    Meet your team
Regularly - daily, weekly or monthly, depending on your place and type of work - have meetings of all the members of the team. Keep these meetings short, focused and action-orientated.

    Train your team
Every team member should have at least two days training a year. Newer and more senior colleagues should have more. If they don't ask to go on training sessions, suggest some suitable courses.

    Grow your team
Through varied experience and regular training, you should be developing each team member to be more and more confident and more skilled.

Set objectives for each team member
As far as possible, these objective such be SMART - Specific Measurable Achievable Resourced Timed.

Review the performance of each team member
At least once a year - at least quarterly for the first year of a new team member - have a review session where you assess performance, give feed-back and agree future objectives and training.

    Inspire your team
Consider making available a motivational quote or story every week or month

    Socialise with your team
Have lunch or an after-work drink with them, especially when a staff member has a birthday or there's another reason to celebrate.

    Thank constantly
The words "Thank you" take seconds to say, but mean so much.

    Praise constantly
The words "Well done" take seconds to say, but will be long remembered and appreciated.

    Communicate constantly
Don't assume that people know what you're doing, still less what you are planning or thinking. Tell them, using all the communication tools to hand: team briefings, electronic newsletters, organisational newspapers.

    Eliminate
Too often we do things because they've always been done. Life changes. Consider whether you could stop doing certain things altogether.

    Delegate
You don't have to do everything. Develop your team members by training them to do more and trusting them to take over some of the things you've been doing.

    Empower
A really effective leader sets clear objectives for his team members, but leaves detailed implementation of these objectives to the discretion and judgement of individual members of the team. As Second World War U.S. General George S. Patton put it: "Don't tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and let them surprise you with their results”.

    Facilitate
A confident leader does not try to micro-manage his team, but makes it clear that, if team members need advice or assistance, he is always there to facilitate and support.

    Be on time
Always start meetings on time and finish them on time. Natural breaks keep people fresh. Short meetings concentrate the mind.

    Be seen
Don't just talk the talk, but walk the walk. So visit each unit or department for which you are responsible on a regular basis. Don't do this unannounced - you are not out to undermine other leaders or catch out staff. So arrange with the unit leader or departmental head when you'll visit and ask him or her to walk round with you.

    Make time
Managers are often very busy and this can deter people from approaching you, so make time for people and be approachable. People will appreciate you taking five minutes out of your busy schedule, especially if you act on/listen to what they say.

    Really listen
Many of us - especially those who think they are important - don't really listen, but instead think about what they're going to say next. Give the person speaking to you your full attention and really take on board what they are saying. [For more detailed advice on listening click here]

    Accept honest criticism
Criticism is hard to take, particularly from a relative, a friend, an acquaintance or a stranger - but it's a powerful tool of learning. Above all, assess criticism on merit, without regard to its originator.

    Think strategically
The doers cut a path through the jungle; the managers are behind them sharpening the machetes; the leaders find time to think, climb the nearest tree, and shout "Wrong jungle!" Find time to climb the trees.

Have a mentor or buddy, someone doing similar work in the same or a similar organisation with whom you can regularly and frankly discuss your progress and your problems as a leader.

Have a role model, someone who can inspire you to be a truly great leader. If you can't find one, study Jed Bartlet as the American President in any episode of the television series "The West Wing".

    Plan your succession
You won't be there forever and you may not be in control of the timing and circumstances of your departure. So start now to mentor and train at least one colleague who could take over from you.

  39. Maid detained over molest
    By : Lee Shi-Ian

KUALA LUMPUR: A mother was puzzled why her usually bubbly daughter was suddenly fearful about attending kindergarten classes.

She had a shock when, upon questioning, the 5-year-old told her that the maid at the kindergarten centre had been molesting her.

The 38-year-old housewife, from Taman Saujana, Bukit Kapar, immediately lodged a police report and the maid was detained the following day.

A police source said the mother woke her daughter at 7am on Friday to ready her for classes at the kindergarten in the neighbourhood.

"However, the daughter told her mother repeatedly that she did not want to attend classes. Feeling something was wrong, the mother persuaded her daughter to tell her the reason," the source said.

The girl told her mother the maid had touched her private parts on two occasions.

    My comments:
In this modern century, many parents work hard to earn more money, then they will have a better life. Their purpose is mainly to give the best to their children by providing good education, comfortable house and many necessary things in life. Their children actually need the love from parents, but some of the parents forget because of their jobs. In this story, parents are too busy, so send child to a kindergarten class. The maid is responsible to take care of children, but something evil happened there. The maid molested the child. Fortunately, the mother discovered the problem early and had lodged a report about the maid to the police. I hope this maid will get the suitable punishment according to her crime.

Every parents love their children very much, but sometimes they do not notice that some actions which are taken may be hurt their children. Although parents always busy, they should spend more time with their children to understand them and know what matter happened in school or somewhere. Children are the most important people to improving our country in the future. They might become the leader of the country or the government officers. Therefore, good memory should be given by the parents. Parents should also be the sample to apply the good attitude. As a result, children will grow healthy and well. In conclusion, parents should sensitive to the matters around their children to avoid leaving bad memory inside their mind. For examples, molesting and raping are the most dangerous matters to their growing process. Parents should take good care of their children. Hopefully, every child has a good childish memory and never do something bad to make your parents feel worry. This world will become more beautiful with having nice and kind people.

    What do you think?

    http://www.idebate.org/debatabase/topic_details.php?topicID=291

Should a child be allowed to work in the performing arts or professional sports? I think that if it is the child’s interest then the child should be allowed to pursue his or her dream. This is because if the kid is doing it out of their own will , they will be motivated to be the best that they can be. In addition to that , it is when we are young that we are unafraid to try new things , so let the child enjoy his or her interest when they want to. Besides that , it will also help them boost their self esteem as well as help them in the future as they have a talent to fall back on.

However , if a child’s talent is exploited by their parents as a means of acquiring fame and fortune , I would totally disagree. This is because the parents will tend to put pressure on the child causing the child to be under a lot of stress and in turn start losing their interest. This can then be considered as a form of abuse to the child. So it is important for us to put the child’s choice above everything else when considering this question.

  41. Heart Prints

    By Author Unknown

    Whatever our hands touch...we leave
    fingerprints on.
On walls, on furniture, on door knobs,
    dishes and books.

As we touch we leave our identity..
Oh please where ever I go today...
    help me leave heart prints.

    Heart prints of compassion,
    understanding and love.
Heart prints of kindness and genuine concern.

May my heart touch a lonely neighbor...
    or a runaway daughter...
    or an anxious mother...
    or perhaps a dear friend!

    I shall go out today...
    to leave heart prints...
and if some one should say...
    "I felt your touch!"

what can we get from this poem?
it tell us about the love and how much we care about others..what have we done to help others..heart prints..

  42. What makes a friendship important?

Friendship has many health benefits, including a longer and healthier life. It also makes our otherwise boring lives more exciting and fun, interesting and relaxing. Having just one close or best friend also enhances a person’s ability to deal with stress and problems. Support from lovers, siblings, parents and children do not provide the same health benefits as that of friendship. The level of understanding and communication is different—there are things that you can tell your pal that you would NEVER say to your Mom, right? There are secrets that only she can keep, and jokes that only she can appreciate.

Although not fully understood, researchers have found out that friends can boost the immunity system. Good friends can make you feel relaxed, can comfort you and be there for you when you need somebody to talk to, even cry and laugh with! They can be a strong support network that could keep you motivated and boost your self-esteem through the hardest of times. Every person needs a friend—do you know how to be one? Here are five easy ways to become a good friend: Spend time together. You’re in Atlanta, she’s in Tokyo. How on earth can you possibly spend time together? Sometimes spending time with her doesn’t mean that you have to be physically present.

Being miles away is no match to the World Wide Web. Send emails or have a video chat and show her your new ‘do. If your friend is only a few blocks away, you can always gossip in the bedroom. Show her that you care about the friendship. Instead of cleaning the house like you do on most afternoons, go that extra mile and go shopping with her. We all have priorities, but setting aside a chore or two for a friend once in a while will surely make her smile. Or, if the house badly needs a scrubbing, why not ask her to help you out? Be there for your friend whenever you can.

Celebrate with her on moments of joy and happiness, and comfort her on moments of sorrows and difficulties. Sometimes there’s nothing that you can really do except to be there. Your mere presence will surely make the occasion a happier or a more bearable one. Throw away your score-cards. Do you count the number of calls she has made versus your number of calls? Can’t forget the time when she didn’t give you a birthday gift? Get over it. Friendship is about give-and-take but, if you feel that you are giving more and you’re not okay with it, then be honest with her.

Tell her and get over it. Focus on her strengths, and help her enhance her weaknesses. You’re human, she’s human. Humans make mistakes. A good friend accepts you for whatever you are. Besides, you have your own strengths and weaknesses too. Avoid being judgemental and accept her as a totally different person from you. After all, differences are what make life more exciting! There are countless ways to be a good friend. It doesn’t have to be expensive or over the top, just as long you show your friends that you truly value the friendship.

    Comment:

Everyone in this world has friends. Even we spend a lot of time and like to share our problems with our friends compared to our family. We also like to share our problem with our friend. But not all friends can be our best friend. How you describe best friend? For me, best friend is the one who always be on my side. She is the want who always give me support and advice.

  43. YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD...

When I cry, you are there to help me out
When I am happy, you are there to hear me shout
When I grin you know that I am really mad
You can always tell when I am sad
You are the best friend I have ever had!

You are there with me through thick and thin
You offer a helping hand when I am dim
You patiently listen when I want to talk
You tell me I am good even when I have been bad
You are the best friend I have ever had!

So hear me out when I say
You are the light in my day
You are the moon in my night
That made my life so bright
With you I am always glad
You are the best friend I have ever had!

  45. Soo. Have anyone heard of bipolar disorder? In short, Bipolar disorder is a condition in which people experience abnormally elevated (manic or hypomanic) and abnormally depressed states for a period of time in a way that interferes with functioning.

For details you can google it up. Cuz what I wanted to share is a poem related to this disorder. Not written by me though, and I dont know what happened to the author either. Last I heard of him was years ago. He had a tough life. Oh well.

    Between happy and sad
    There's a very fine line
Which you have to be upon
    In order to feel fine.

    If you drop down below
    Pain is all you'll feel
    Suffer in darkness
    Not knowing what's real,

But if you rise too high
    Things barely improve
    As from suicidal darkness
    To manic confusion you move.

Like a yo-yo you cross the line
    Up and down without prediction
    Almost like instability
    Becomes you're addiction.

    Never knowing what's to come
Where on the scale you shall lie
Or when it will overpower you
When you shall come to die.

Like a yo-yo though highs and lows
    Fearing the worse
    And crossing the line,
    Welcome to the bi-polar curse.

  46. Self Improvement Soup: A Simple Recipe for Success
If you want to make a good soup – or build a great life – you need to realize that all of the ingredients are part of the process, and that the key to success is in finding the right balance.
The trick to self improvement is to put enough of your resources into things that will help your life go where you want it to go, and to minimize the amount of focus given to things that will keep you from making that happen.

It’s a simple concept, but many people apply too much of their focus onto certain areas, while not putting enough of their focus on areas that need more attention. This causes an imbalance that ultimately leads to a lack of confidence, happiness, and overall contentment.

You could break down your life into almost limitless individual compartments that require your attention, although almost everything that you need to focus on will fall under the general umbrella of 3 primary areas: Health, Wealth, and Relationships.

Health – This obviously includes the health of your physical body, but it also includes your mental health, your level of peace with spirituality or religion, and also your general attitude and outlook on life.

Wealth – This could mean actual money in the bank or other assets, it could mean job security and prospects, or it could mean something as simple as your level of career satisfaction, and your belief in your chosen career to provide for your needs in the short-term as well as the long-term.

Relationships – This includes relationships with a partner, spouse, or significant other, it also includes friendships, the desire or ability to spend time with family members, and it could also include your level of contentment with how you deal with co-workers, and even strangers who are met in public.

As we go through life looking to accomplish goals in certain areas, it is very easy and natural to focus on one particular area, especially if we feel a serious lack of success in that area.

For instance, someone who wants to lose weight will probably focus more of their attention on their weight loss efforts, while not giving as much consideration to what is happening with their relationships, or with their finances.

On the flip side, someone who is very focused on building or maintaining a career will often take their relationships as well as their health almost to the point of neglect while they expend almost all of their mental energy on tasks related to their career.

For someone who is absolutely thrilled with their spouse, partner, or significant other, that person will often spend very little time tending to their health, yet they will spend money outside of their means in order to enjoy their relationship to the fullest.

In each of these examples, there is certainly nothing wrong with taking one area of your life and focusing attention on it in order to achieve success, and it is often the case that one or more areas of life are stable enough that they do not need as much attention as the other areas.

However, we live in a society where people tend to take things to the extreme, and the attention that is given to an area of life that is falling behind is often given by taking needed attention away from other areas. We tend to overcompensate in our desire to lose weight, build a career, or have successful relationships, so those areas end up getting more than their fair share of the available resources, and the other areas suffer as a result.

In order to practice the fine art of self improvement you need to recognize that the key to success lies in balancing your resources so that all areas of your life receive enough attention.

Excelling in one area of your life, or even two, but then leaving the third area to fall flat will only set you up for an unbalanced – and ultimately unhappy – lifestyle. People who say that they don’t really care very much about one area or another are not really making an accurate statement.

If someone says that they don’t really care about making a lot of money, that may very well be the case. However, that doesn’t mean that money isn’t a part of their life that needs to be factored in. Very few people can make it in the world without at least a minimal means of supporting themselves.

The person who says that they are not really concerned about their health because they think that life is about "enjoying the ride" may be truthful when making a statement like that. However, that same person who has a heart attack or a stroke as a result of their consistently negative health habits will almost always have a change of heart regarding their level of health.

Someone who claims to not need a partner, or who isn’t interested in relationships with friends or family may truly feel that way. However, when the right type of relationship or social opportunity comes along, they will very likely engage in it because it is something that they can enjoy, or that they feel comfortable with.

Remember, balancing out these three areas of your life does not mean that each area gets an equal share of your attention. Whenever you are making soup, do you put the same amount of every single ingredient into the soup? Of course not.

Balance in life – or in soup – does not mean the same amount of every ingredient, but rather in knowing which ingredients need to be added in higher amounts, while lowering the amount of other ingredients.

Take a look at your own life and you will probably see that certain areas are taking up too much of your time and your mental energy, thus throwing off your balance. Redistribute some of your resources, and in so doing, remind yourself that all areas of your life are worthy of your attention!

  47. A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2 inches in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “Yes.”

“Now,” said the professor, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your health, your children - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter - like your job, your house, your car.

The sand is everything else. The small stuff.”

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued “there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal.

Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

  48. This week I am going to share with you a new interest of mine which is the rubric's cube.the mid-1970s, Ernő Rubik worked at the Department of Interior Design at the Academy of Applied Arts and Crafts in Budapest.[10] He sought to find a teaching tool to help his students understand 3D objects. Rubik invented his "Magic Cube" in 1974 and obtained Hungarian patent HU170062 for the Magic Cube in 1975 but did not take out international patents. The first test batches of the product were produced in late 1977 and released to Budapest toy shops. Magic Cube was held together with interlocking plastic pieces that were less expensive to produce than the magnets in Nichols's design. In September 1979, a deal was signed with Ideal Toys to bring the Magic Cube to the Western world, and the puzzle made its international debut at the toy fairs of London, Paris, Nuremberg and New York in January and February 1980.

After its international debut, the progress of the Cube towards the toy shop shelves of the West was briefly halted so that it could be manufactured to Western safety and packaging specifications. A lighter Cube was produced, and Ideal Toys decided to rename it. "The Gordian Knot" and "Inca Gold" were considered, but the company finally decided on "Rubik's Cube", and the first batch was exported from Hungary in May 1980. Taking advantage of an initial shortage of Cubes, many cheap imitations appeared.
Nichols assigned his patent to his employer Moleculon Research Corp., which sued Ideal Toy Company in 1982. In 1984, Ideal lost the patent infringement suit and appealed. In 1986, the appeals court affirmed the judgment that Rubik's 2×2×2 Pocket Cube infringed Nichols's patent, but overturned the judgment on Rubik's 3×3×3 Cube.[11]
Even while Rubik's patent application was being processed, Terutoshi Ishigi, a self-taught engineer and ironworks owner near Tokyo, filed for a Japanese patent for a nearly identical mechanism, which was granted in 1976 (Japanese patent publication JP55-008192). Until 1999, when an amended Japanese patent law was enforced, Japan's patent office granted Japanese patents for non-disclosed technology within Japan without requiring worldwide novelty[12][13]. Hence, Ishigi's patent is generally accepted as an independent reinvention at that time.[14][15][16]
Rubik applied for another Hungarian patent on October 28, 1980, and applied for other patents. In the United States, Rubik was granted U.S. Patent 4,378,116 on March 29, 1983, for the Cube.
Greek inventor Panagiotis Verdes patented[17] a method of creating cubes beyond the 5×5×5, up to 11×11×11, in 2003 although he claims he originally thought of the idea around 1985.[18] As of June 19, 2008, the 5x5x5, 6x6x6, and 7x7x7 models are in production.
The Cube celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2005, when a special edition was released, featuring a sticker in the centre of the reflective face (which replaced the white face) with a "Rubik's Cube 1980-2005" logo, and different packaging.

  49. Whom to send thank-you’s to during the job search process:
1)Your references. They are vital in communicating your strengths and prior experience. Keep thanking them by sending them weekly announcements re how your job search is going — regardless of whether you have good or no news to share. And make sure that they are the first folks to be thanked when you get your job. Promise that you’ll help them in their own job searches — and follow through with that promise.
2)Your networking contacts. Email them regularly about how you’re following up on the contacts that they’ve recommended. Just like your references, they deserve to be kept in touch with on a regular basis.
3)Each person who interviews you. Make sure that you send individual thank-you's to each of the members of the team, from the assessment person to the HR Manager, to the benefits manager, etc. Customize each thank-you because they’ll probably pass it among each other!
4)Reference librarians who help you in your research of the company that you’re interviewing with, your research of competitors in the field, your learning about the Bureau of Labor Statistics' brand new statistics about "hot jobs" 2004-2014 and its occupational outlook handbook that has tons of valuable information for everyone in the workforce.
5)Your family and friends. Obviously, you don’t have to send them personal thank-you’s but -- make sure that they understand how much you appreciate their generosity and love during the difficult periods that are inevitable during the job search.

One serving of mushrooms also provides about 20 to 40 percent of the daily value of copper, a mineral that has cardio protective properties.

Mushrooms are a rich source of riboflavin, niacin, and selenium. Selenium is an antioxidant that works with vitamin E to protect cells from the damaging effects of free radicals.

  51. BENEFITS OF CHOCOLATE

I have read the article about chocolate. We know that the chocolate is not good for our health. Several population studies have observed an increase in the risk of certain cancers among people who frequently consume sweet 'junk' foods such as chocolate. But in this article,it says that chocolate is good for our health. Evidence from laboratory studies suggests that cocoa flavonoids may possess anticarcinogenic mechanisms.Studies suggest a specially formulated type of cocoa may be nootropic and delay brain function decline as people age.cocoa-based prescription drugs could potentially help treat diabetes, dementia and other diseases. Other research indicates that chocolate may be effective at preventing persistent coughing. The ingredient theobromine was found to be almost one third more effective than codeine, the leading cough medicine. The chocolate also appears to soothe and moisten the throat.Flavonoids can inhibit the development of diarrhea, suggesting antidiarrhoeal effects of chocolate.

  52. How to Be a Leader
Solve problems. The first step towards becoming a leader is to look around and find ways to make the world a better place. Observe your surroundings and listen to people. How can you help? Discover what your talents are, develop them, and focus on applying them towards making a difference. Think of problems in the broader sense - they're not always easy to define. Look for needs, niches, conflicts, gaps that need to be filled, and inefficiencies. The solutions won't always be creative or cutting edge; sometimes they're the simplest things.
Think of the big picture. As you're solving problems, you might notice patterns, and wonder if many of those problems are symptoms of a deeper, bigger problem. Thoreau once said, "For every thousand hacking at the leaves of evil, one is hacking at the root." Take a step back and try to find the root. The thing about the deeper problem is that it's not something anybody can solve alone; it'll require a group effort, which is where your role as a leader comes into play.
Be proactive. If you've got these ideas in your mind about what the deeper issues are, you can probably predict the problems that'll crop up as a result. Instead of waiting for those problems to appear, take steps to prevent them. If you can't prevent them, then you can at least prepare. That's the core difference between a leader and a manager. A good manager responds well to a variety of situations; a good leader takes effective action to prevent and create situations before they actually happen.
Make decisions, and take responsibility for the consequences. In order to exert influence and tackle bigger problems, you're going to need decision-making power, and those decisions will affect the people who grant you that power. This is as much a responsibility as it is an honor. Not only do you need to be able to make sound decisions, but you also need to be willing to be held accountable to them. If things go wrong, people will assume it's your fault (whether it is or not). Think of yourself as the captain of a ship; the fate of the ship is essentially in your hands, and it's up to you to steer everyone in the right direction. So exercise wisdom when calling the shots; hope for the best and prepare for the worst. If you're not prepared to take responsibility for your decisions - if you struggle with hesitation and self-doubt - it might be a good idea to step down. An insecure leader often becomes a tyrant.
Share your vision. As a leader, you can see the bigger issues at hand, but you can also see how things could be so much better if we could just remove those obstacles. To get people to help you in changing things, you need to share that positive vision with them. Inspire them. Motivate them. Guide them. Show them how their actions are bringing everyone closer to that dream. "Most important, leaders can conceive and articulate goals that lift people out of their petty preoccupations and unite them in pursuit of objectives worthy of their best efforts.

  53. TIPS TO STAY COOL
    1) Be prepared
First of all, it helps to be prepared. Know that sooner or later, there'll be a stressful situation, and you'll want to make sure to have your arsenal of self-calming strategies handy and ready to go.
    2) Breathe
Yes, breathe. This is not a joke. When we get stressed, our breath gets very shallow, and the body responds with generating stress hormones. If we take slow deep belly breaths, the vagus nerve gets stimulated, which results in more calming hormones. Ergo: instant calm. Or at least calmer.
    3) Time out
If you can, get some time out. Kids are not the only ones that can benefit. Go for a walk outside if you can to clear your head, work off some of the stress hormones in your body and, yes, breathe. Think. Get a bit of perspective before you return to face whatever it is you must face.If going outside is not an option, excuse yourself to go to be bathroom. Or walk a flight of stairs or two. Anything to get away for a moment.
    4) Focus on the positive
Focusing on the positive makes a huge difference and can rapidly transform how you feel. There are two ways to do that. You can focus on the preferred outcome of the situation, maybe in the long run if that's all you can come up with. Think: What WOULD I like to happen?Or you can focus on any positive aspects of the situation, starting with the most basic (you're alive. You can walk, talk, see, etc.) and moving to the more sophisticated (find SOMETHING positive about the situation or person who is aggravating you).
I have read this article. I think this is the better way how we want to stay cool eventhough we have some problem. Make sure that we always think positive about something.Don’t work under pressure. If not, our work are not perfect.

  54. Easy Nutrition Tips for a Healthy Heart
Heart disease is a major causes of death in the developed world. A sound diet is considered to be one of the major factors in the prevention of heart attacks. Here we discuss what you should and should not be eating to minimize your risk of heart disease, and examine the role of a heart health supplement.
    Omega 3 Fatty Acids
Not all fats are bad. Omega 3 are essential fatty acids, which are often lacking in the Western diet. These are polyunsaturated fatty acids found predominantly in oily fish. Vegetarian sources of omega 3 include walnuts, flaxseeds and a variety of other seeds. Scientific research suggests an important role for Omega 3 in the prevention of heart disease and protecting the cardiovascular system, and therefore they should be a key ingredient in a heart health supplement.

Omega 3 fatty acids can help slow down the production of thromboxane A2 and inflammatory cytokines which means that there is a reduced tendency of the blood to clot. Blockage of the heart valve with a blood clot can cause heart attacks. Research has shown that those who eat greater amounts of Omega 3-rich foods have a lower risk of heart attack compared to those consuming less. Amongst the inhabitants of Okinawa in Japan, the high consumption of Omega 3 fatty acid due to a love of oily fish is considered a major reason why they extremely good heart health and one of the longest life expectancies in the world.

    Antioxidants
The body also needs antioxidants to prevent heart disease and improve circulation. Antioxidants reduce the damage effects of free radicals on the cells. Free radicals are formed naturally during metabolism and other physiological processes. Antioxidants are very useful in fighting and preventing cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s. Some of the most common antioxidants are Lycopene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Such nutrients are also important components to include in a heart health supplement.

    Grape Seed Extract
Grape seed extracts could help prevent heart disease and improve circulation. It is rich in flavonoids, which are phytochemicals with antioxidant properties. These may help improve blood circulation and strengthen blood vessels, benefiting people with heart disease and cancer. One study demonstrated that people using grapeseed extract showed a 14% increase in HDL (good cholesterol) a 15% reduction in triglycerides in a one month period.

    Calcium
Calcium is an important mineral in heart health as it regulates muscle contraction and nerve conduction. It works effectively with magnesium and requires sufficient Vitamin D for absorption. Ionized calcium is an important minerals in maintaining heart function. It supports the relaxation phase of the heart as it stimulates muscle contraction. Calcium deficiency, especially in the elderly, has been linked to arteriosclerosis and hypertension, which could lead to heart disease. Calcium is found in dairy products, dark leafy vegetables, soybeans, fish with soft bones and more. The recommended intakes for calcium are 1,000-1,300 mg daily for men and women over 19 years.

    Folic Acid
Research suggests that folic acid may have a key role in reducing the risk of stroke, thrombosis and heart disease especially amongst the elderly. Dietary sources include green leafy veg, organ meat, fortified breakfast cereal, beans and peas. Sometimes it is difficult to meet requirements via diet alone, and therefore folic acid is important to include in a heart health supplement.

  55. Home Safety Tips: Rules to Follow to Make Yourself Safe and Secure
Maintaining a safe and happy home is something each of us wants to achieve. Yet at times, destructive natural forces, criminal activities, and even one's negligence pose challenges which we need to be made aware of. The following items provide tips and information in helping you realize the risks, while suggesting ways in which you can reduce your exposure to the possibility of loss and personal injury:
Danger can lurk inside the house, as much as outside it. It's important to make your house danger-proof with a few simple steps.

    HOME SAFETY CHECKLIST

    1) Always store household chemicals like cleaning products, paint and pesticides properly. Store them out of reach of children and pets, such as in a locked metal cabinet in the basement or garage.

    2) Keep products in their original containers so that they're clearly labelled and less prone to leakage. The containers should be placed in a well-ventilated area, and protected from sunlight and extreme temperatures.

    3) Don't leave items like paper towel racks, curtains or towels near heating devices, and don't leave any clothes near them either. Also, heating pads, electric blankets and space heaters should be turned off and unplugged when they're not in use.

    4) Check for cracks in walls. They could be a sign of foundation damage, leading to water pipe bursts or even worse damage.

    5) Don't overload electric outlets. You should only plug in one appliance per outlet entry. Check all the cords on your appliances to make sure they're working properly.

    6) Keep emergency exits clear. Don't keep objects such as bikes, newspapers or boxes in front of your alternate emergency exit.

    8) Install mats in the bathroom. Buy non-slip floor mats for your bathroom.

    9) Don't use any electrical appliances such as a hair dryer or electric shears when you're wet or in the shower.

    10) Be sure to turn off electric appliances and unplug them before you attempt to inspect or repair it.

    11) Maintain your smoke detector in good working condition.

    12) Verify the stairs and ensure they're in good repair and condition. All stairways should have a sturdy handrail and any carpet on stairways needs to be securely fastened. Also, stairs should be clutter free.

  56. What Causes Coughs
Everyone normally experiences coughing due to different reasons. However, excessive or long-term cough can be indicative of a serious illness. Here is the detailed information about what causes coughs.
Coughing is an important defense mechanism in the body. While coughing, the larynx closes and there is a shortness of breath. Due to contraction of abdominal and chest muscles, air in the lungs is forced out under high pressure, resulting in coughs. Coughing is necessary to get rid of substances that irritate the air passages. Whenever you are exposed to smoke, dust or pollutants, you may start coughing. It is also a spontaneous reflex action to remove mucus secretions, phlegm and foreign particles from the respiratory tract. When mucus secretions or foreign particles obstruct the respiratory passage, the cells along the air passages get irritated, stimulating the sensory nerves in the lining of the respiratory passages. Cough can also be triggered by the entry of food bolus into trachea instead of esophagus, due to dysfunction of epiglottis.

    What Causes Coughs

Coughing is usually associated with smoking, irritants, allergies, respiratory tract infections, respiratory diseases and some other health conditions like viral infections. There are different causes of acute and chronic coughing.

Causes of acute cough: Acute coughing can be due to infectious and noninfectious causes. Infectious causes are associated with viral upper respiratory infections such as common cold, pneumonia, sinusitis and whooping cough. Cold viruses can cause a postnasal drip, leading to cough. Viral illnesses are generally followed by a dry cough that can last for several weeks.

Noninfectious causes include emphysema, chronic bronchitis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations and environmental allergies. Environmental allergies can cause dry cough. It is often accompanied by itchy and watery eyes, sneezing and a runny nose. Some severe illnesses like pulmonary embolism or acute heart failure can also cause acute coughing.

Causes of chronic cough: Chronic cough is associated with smoking, environmental irritants and certain diseases. Some common causes of chronic cough are postnasal drip, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis and certain medications. Coughing and wheezing are the common symptoms of asthma. It is characterized by shortness of breath. Coughing in people with asthma is triggered by exercises, exposure to cold air and allergens like dust or pollutants. Postnasal drip causes excessive mucus production that can lead to irritation and inflammation of respiratory passages, which can trigger cough reflex. Chronic bronchitis causes long-standing inflammation of bronchial tubes, which can lead to breathlessness, congestion, wheezing and productive cough.

Lung cancer, congestive heart failure and sarcoidosis are less common causes of chronic cough. A few people with chronic cough have lung cancer. Most of them are former or current smokers. GERD causes constant irritation of throat, esophagus and lungs, which may result in chronic cough. Medications like angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or beta blockers used for the treatment of high blood pressure and heart failure can lead to chronic coughing as a side-effect.

Smoking, exposure to allergens and environmental pollutants can increase the risk of chronic coughing. Smoking is the leading risk factor for chronic coughing. It causes certain irreversible changes in the lungs, leading to lung damage. Exposure to allergens like pet dander, pollens, dust and chemical fumes may cause a persistent cough. Environmental pollutants like nitrogen dioxide or diesel exhaust can irritate the air passages, causing chronic coughing.

You can prevent irritating coughs by avoiding exposure to allergic substances as well as by taking appropriate precautions to prevent health problems that can cause cough. Since smokers are at a higher risk of developing cough, it is beneficial to stop smoking.

  57. POLICE FORCE: Be fair when judging the men in blue
    By : M. NAJIB, Kuching

I AM not a policeman and none in my family is in the force, but I would like to congratulate Azlina Merican of Petaling Jaya for her letter "A salute to the man in blue" (NST, March 30). It is gratifying to hear that a citizen of Malaysia actually appreciates the contribution and the dedication of our police force.

A lot has been said about our police force, but unfortunately 90 per cent of it is negative.

In spite of that, consider the realities of life: who do you call when somebody breaks into your house? The police. When somebody snatches your handbag? The police. When somebody threatens you? The police.

Even for the slightest reason, any citizen of Malaysia would go to the police for help.

I would be the first to say that our police force is not perfect, and I wouldn't say I have fond memories of encounters with the police or willingly compliment them on any job well done.

But no one should condemn the whole force or dismiss it as corrupt just because of the mistakes or follies of a few.

That would be too much, considering what they have done for we citizens of Malaysia.

The police force deserves some credit for its work and dedication.

What I'm asking for is some fairness in judgment from all Malaysian citizens.

    My comments:
When I was a small kid, I thought that policeman is a good and meaningful job. In the movies, many police sacrifice their life, time and family to help people sincerely and never want any demand from people. I felt that they are noble and nice. When I am growing up, I know the truth after have seen some police in Malaysia. They are not noble as I thought before. I feel disappointed and drop the police job from my dream list. Some of them are very selfish and lazy. When they are on duty, they just simply do their duty in order to wait the duty time end. Furthermore, there are many corruption cases among the police in Malaysia. Some of police ask for some money from the people when they want to release from their mistakes. This phenomenon becomes more serious in the past few years. In addition, they also disobey the law and be a bad sample for the people in the society. For example, they drive the car until over the speed limit in the road or play with firecrackers during the New Year celebration. These actions make me feeling disgusted and disappointed to the police.

Therefore, government should give more attention to this problem by carrying out some methods. On the contrary, there are some good police like the police inside the article. Government should choose good attitude police be the leader to take care of our society. They will bring the peace and happiness to the country and then country will develop quickly and steadily.

  58. what is Clinical Depression

Depression, a mental illness that is often characterized by prolonged periods of sadness and melancholy, experts from the field of psychiatry say.

But just because one person is moping around and just generally hating the world around him or her, doesn't mean that it's already depression, but if this kind of behavior, the feeling of emptiness, loss of self-worth and absolutely no hope for happiness just goes on and on, then, yes, that individual is very much, indeed, depressed.

Clinical depression however, or as some might call as 'major' depression, is actually the medical term for depression. Actually clinical depression is more of a disorder rather than an illness since it basically covers only those who are suffering from symptoms related to depression. Clinical depression is how doctors usually refer to "depression" when giving a diagnose of their patient. It's basically just a medical term.

For those who may be seeking some answers for their Clinical depression related questions, the depression section of the health center is highly recommended, as well as books on psychiatry and the internet - which can offer a lot of helpful information with regards to Clinical depression although self-medication/treatment is highly disapproved of. Clinical depression may not pose as much as a threat as the other types of depression, but it is best to leave it to the hands of professionals who can safely attend to and cure this disorder.

  60. A Joke. Enjoy

    My dear Jagjit,

I am in a well here and hoping you are also in a well there.

I'm writing this letter slowly, because I know you cannot read fast.

We don't live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents happen 20 miles from home, so we moved 20 miles.

I won't be able to send the address as the last Sardar who stayed here took the house numbers with them for their new house so they would not have to change their address. Hopefully by next week we will be able to take our earlier address plate here, and that our address will remain same too.

This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine, situated
Right Above the toilet I'm not sure it works too well. Last week I put in 3 shirts, pulled the chain and haven't seen them since. The weather here isn't too bad. It rained only twice last week. The first time it rained for 3 days and second time for 4 days.

The coat you wanted me to send you, your Aunt said it would be a little too heavy to send in the mail with all the metal buttons, so we cut them off and put them in the pocket.

Your father has another job. He has 500 men under him. He is cutting the grass at the cemetery.

By the way I took Bahu to our club's poolside. The manager is Badmash. He told her that two piece swimming suit is not allowed in his club. We were confused as to which piece should we remove?

Your sister had a baby this morning. I haven't found out whether it is a girl or a boy, so I don't know whether you are an Aunt or Uncle.

Your uncle, Jetinder fell in the nearby well. Some men tried to pull
Him out, but he fought them off bravely and drowned. We cremated him and he burned for three days.

There isn't much more news this time. Nothing much has happened.

    Love - Mom.

P.S . Jagjit, I was going to send you some money but by the time I
Realized, I had already sealed off this letter.

  61. Reason of Earthquakes happening!

An earthquake is sudden rapid shaking of the earth caused by the breaking and shifting of rock beneath the earth’s surface. Earthquakes can cause buildings and bridges to collapse, disrupt gas, electric and phone lines and often cause landslides, flash floods, fires, avalanches, and tsunamis.

There are two main causes of earthquakes. Firstly, they can be linked to explosive volcanic eruptions. These are in fact very common in areas of volcanic activity where they either proceed or accompany eruptions. Secondly, they can be triggered by tectonic activity associated with plate margins and faults. The tectonic earthquakes are triggered when the crust becomes subjected to strain and eventually moves. The theory of plate tectonics explains how the crust of the earth is made of several plates, large areas of crust which float on the mantle.

Volcanic earthquakes are far less common than tectonic ones. They are triggered by the explosive eruption of a volcano. When volcano explodes, it is likely that the associated earthquake effects will be confined to an area ten to twenty miles around its base. It will produce acidic lava. Acidic lava cools and sets very quickly upon contact with the air. This tends to chock the volcanic vent and block the further escape of pressure.

Actually, earthquakes occur at a rate of several hundred per day around the world. A worldwide network of seismographs, machines that record movements of the Earth, detects about one million small earthquakes per day. Very large earthquakes such as the 1964 Alaskan earthquake, which caused millions of dollars in damage, occur worldwide once every few years.

The destruction an earthquake causes depends on its magnitude, duration and the amount of the shaking that occurs. The structural design and the material used in its construction also effects the amount of damage the structure incurs. Earthquakes vary from small, imperceptible shaking to large shocks felt over thousands of kilometers. Earthquakes can deform the ground, make buildings and other structures collapse and even create tsunamis.

As conclusion, we should know how the earthquakes happen and it is natural. Although it causes many of dead, millions of dollars in damage. Therefor, we as Malayisan should be pround of our own land because out of thise deasaster happen.

  62. Globalization On Earth

It was not until the Second World War that globalization is being a more common term.Or more well known to people.Actually globalization started since ancient time. The Silk road that China uses to trade with the western is a good prove.

Roman empire trade with the northern region (Norway) is also another example. And later on the Islam Empire uses the Silk Road again to trade with the eastern world. Therefore it is wrong for third world country to close their borders to the outside world in the name of protecting the people economy.

Closing a country will only shows lack of technology expertise and lack will of competeness. Since globalization is at your door step why not let them come in.Let the outsider invest in our country.Let the the economy flow. Let's take today's biggest franchise and coperate. Mc Donald. Nearly every corner you would see McDonald. But will McDonald makes cause a slow down in our economy.No. Infact McDonald gives us more jobs opportunity . And it makes our Ringgit stronger. In my humble opinion if a foreign do interested to invest in a country. That shows that country itself is stable terms of political aspect.Economy.Public safety.

Well equip with facility such as road , banks and such. In the end both country will progress forward and both will actually benefit in terms of stronger diplomatic ties and economy.
Country who denied globalization will eventually collapse.

  63. World War 2

World War II, or the Second World War (often abbreviated WWII or WW2), was a global military conflict which involved a majority of the world's nations, including all of the great powers, organized into two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. The war involved the mobilisation of over 100 million military personnel, making it the most widespread war in history. In a state of "total war", the major participants placed their complete economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities at the service of the war effort, erasing the distinction between civilian and military resources. Over seventy million people, the majority of whom were civilians, were killed, making it the deadliest conflict in human history.

The start of the war is generally held to be in September 1939 with the German invasion of Poland and subsequent declarations of war on Nazi Germany by most of the countries in the British Commonwealth and France. Many belligerents entered the war before or after this date, during a period which spanned from 1937 to 1941, as a result of other events. Amongst these main events are the Marco Polo Bridge Incident (fought between Nationalist China and Japan), the start of Operation Barbarossa (the Nazi invasion of Russia), and the attacks on Pearl Harbor and British and Dutch colonies in South East Asia.

After the war ended in 1945, the Soviet Union and the United States emerged as the world's superpowers. This set the stage for the Cold War, which lasted for the next 45 years. The United Nations was formed in the hope of preventing another such conflict. The self-determination spawned by the war accelerated decolonization movements in Asia and Africa, while Western Europe itself began moving toward integration.

  64. The Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region of the northwestern Atlantic Ocean in which a number of aircraft and surface vessels are alleged to have disappeared in mysterious circumstances which fall beyond the boundaries of human error, pirates, equipment failure, or natural disasters. Popular culture has attributed some of these disappearances to the paranormal, a suspension of the laws of physics, or activity by extraterrestrial beings.

A substantial body of documentation exists showing numerous incidents to have been inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors, and numerous official agencies have gone on record as stating that the number and nature of disappearances is similar to any other area of ocean, however proponents of paranormal phenomena claim that many incidents remained unexplained despite considerable investigation.

  65. Healthy Lifestyle

We as students in Malaysia lead really hectic lives. Sometimes it seems that there is never enough time to get everything done, so some of us resort to skip meals or burning the midnight oil.

This is not a healthy trend because, although it seems as if our bodies can take it, there will be serious repercussions when we are older. It is therefore important to maintain a healthy lifestyle now so that we can enjoy things in the present as well as later.

The first step towards being healthy is to take regular and balanced meals. Many of us skip breakfast because we wake too late to eat it, or else we live on a junk food when we have to stay back after schooling. Do not do this. Make sure that, at least twice a day, you have a balanced meal. This meal should have all three food groups which are carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables and some meat. Remember to drink plenty of water and refrain from taking too many snacks and soft drinks between meals.

Secondly, never skimp on your sleep. Most of us need about seven to eight hours of sleep. If you find that sleeping this length of time means you do not have time for watching television, not your beauty sleep! Sleep is necessary to recharge your body especially if you have been working it hard.

Also, a healthy lifestyle means regular exercise. We teenagers are lucky that we do not get fat easily because our metabolism burns up added calories faster. Thus, we might think it is silly to waste time exercising, as we do not need to lose weight.

This is not true as physical fitness is essential in building up our stamina and strength. A short 20 minutes session every day is enough. If you like, you can walk briskly with your friends and chat at the same time. You might even discuss school lessons as you walk, so you do not have to feel guilty about wasting time.

Last but not least, maintaining a healthy lifestyle means keeping away from unhealthy habits such as smoking, indulging in drugs or studying too much. All work and no play not only makes Jack and Jill dull people but also unhealthy and unfit. Balance study with enjoyable and relaxing activities.

  66. Recently, I had read an article about the headaches. Headaches are one of the most common pain-related health problems in both children and adults. The most common types of headaches usually are not serious but may occur again and again. Tension headaches are the most common type of headache and are often caused by stress and emotional strain. Most adults have tension headaches from time to time. Common causes of headaches include:
Alcohol, caffeine, or other drug use, coughing or sneezing, dehydration, dental problems or procedures, such as pain from grinding the teeth or from a root canal, eating or drinking cold foods and fluids, emotional stress and also medicines. Many medicines can cause headaches.
Most of the time headaches get better or go away with home treatment and do not require a visit to a doctor. Home treatment for headaches can often help reduce the severity of pain and the length of time the pain is present. Home treatment may also relieve other symptoms, such as fever, nausea or vomiting, anxiety, or muscle aches.
    Prevention
Eat regularly. Do not skip meals. Choose nutritious foods; do not fill up on salty foods or carbonated beverages.
Keep a regular sleep schedule. Set a bedtime and time to get up, and stick to them, even on weekends. This will help your body get used to a regular sleep time. Avoid oversleeping.
Exercise regularly. Walking, cycling, jogging, swimming, or even dancing or gardening are great ways to relieve stress.
Try massage which can reduce muscle tension, especially in your neck and shoulder muscles. Muscle tension can cause headaches or make them worse.
So, I hope this information could help all of you to know how to prevent this ailment.

  67. What Goes Around Comes Around

He almost didn't see the old lady stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.

Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe. He looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill only fear can put in you.

He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But, he had to get dirty, and his hands hurt.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, "And think of me."

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then, she remembered Bryan.

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a one hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her one hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you."

Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it?

With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard...

She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's gonna be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."

  68. Who You Are Makes a Difference

A teacher in New York decided to honor each of her seniors in high school by telling them the difference they each made. She called each student to the front of the class, one at a time. First, she told each of them how they had made a difference to her and the class.

Then, she presented each of them with a blue ribbon imprinted with gold letters, which read, "Who I Am Makes a Difference." Afterwards, the teacher decided to do a class project to see what kind of impact recognition would have on a community. She gave each of the students three more ribbons and instructed them to go out and spread this acknowledgment ceremony. Then, they were to follow up on the results, see who honored whom, and report back to the class in about a week.

One of the boys in the class went to a junior executive in a nearby company and honored him for helping him with his career planning. He gave him a blue ribbon and put it on his shirt. Then, he gave him two extra ribbons and said, "We're doing a class project on recognition, and we'd like you to go out find somebody to honor, give them a blue ribbon, then give them the extra blue ribbon so they can acknowledge a third person to keep this acknowledgment ceremony going. Then, please report back to me and tell me what happened."

Later that day, the junior executive went in to see his boss, who had been noted, by the way, as being kind of a grouchy fellow. He sat his boss down, and he told him that he deeply admired him for being a creative genius. The boss seemed very surprised. The junior executive asked him if he would accept the gift of the blue ribbon and give him permission to put it on him. His surprised boss said, "Well, sure." The junior executive took the blue ribbon and placed it right on his boss's jacket above his heart.

As he gave him the last extra ribbon, he said, "Would you do me a favor? Would you take this extra ribbon and pass it on by honoring somebody else? The young boy who first gave me the ribbons is doing a project in school, and we want to keep this recognition ceremony going and find out how it affects people."

That night, the boss came home to his 14-year-old son and sat him down. He said, "The most incredible thing happened to me today. I was in my office, and one of the junior executives came in and told me he admired me and gave me a blue ribbon for being a creative genius.

Imagine. He thinks I'm a creative genius. Then, he put this blue ribbon that says: 'Who I Am Makes a Difference' on my jacket above my heart. He gave me an extra ribbon and asked me to find somebody else to honor. As I was driving home tonight, I started thinking about whom I would honor with this ribbon, and I thought about you.

I want to honor you. My days are really hectic, and when I come home, I don't pay a lot of attention to you. Sometimes, I scream at you for not getting good enough grades in school and for your bedroom being a mess, but somehow tonight, I just wanted to sit here and, well, just let you know that you do make a difference to me. Besides your mother, you are the most important person in my life. You're a great kid, and I love you!"

The startled boy started to sob and sob, and he couldn't stop crying. His whole body shook. He looked up at his father and said through his tears, "Dad, earlier tonight I sat in my room and wrote a letter to you and Mom explaining why I had killed myself and asking you to forgive me. I was going to commit suicide tonight after you were asleep. I just didn't think that you cared at all. The letter is upstairs. I don't think I need it after all."

His father walked upstairs and found a heartfelt letter full of anguish and pain. The envelope was addressed, "Mom and Dad."

The boss went back to work a changed man. He was no longer a grouch but made sure to let all his employees know that they made a difference. The junior executive helped several other young people with career planning and never forgot to let them know that they made a difference in his life...one being the boss's son.

And the young boy and his classmates learned a valuable lesson. Who you are DOES make a difference.

  69. Immunotherapy: Looking through cancer's invisibility cloak

The human body is bombarded daily with infectious agents and other toxins resulting in potentially cancer-causing damage to DNA.

Normally, these attacks do not lead to chronic diseases such as cancer or viral infections but usually cause an acute, self-limited disease that is resolved within a matter of days. However, chronic viral infection or cancer occurs when these assaults overwhelm the ability of the immune system to eliminate unhealthy cells.

One goal of research in treating cancer is to develop methods to harness and enhance the body's natural tendency to defend itself against malignant tumors.
Immunotherapy is the new method in using the body’s natural defense system to fight off cancer.

To understand the basis of cancer immunotherapy, it first helps to know how the immune system hunts and kills more typical prey such as viruses, bacteria and parasites.

Among the system’s complex network of cells, proteins and activity pathways, two biological warriors — T cells and antibodies — deserve special mention.

Both of these play a critical role in helping the body kill abnormal cells found in tumors and block tumor growth.

  70. Milo

Milo is a milk beverage with chocolate and malt, produced by Nestlé and originating from Australia. It was developed by Thomas Mayne in 1934.
MILO contains ACTIGEN-E®, a unique combination of 8 vitamins and 4 minerals - high in magnesium with enriched levels of Vitamins B, Vitamin C and Calcium.
Milo is added to hot or cold milk to give it a malted chocolate flavour and extra texture. When combined with cold milk, it retains the gritty texture of its raw state. Milo can be stirred into steamed milk or hot water to create something similar to hot chocolate or cocoa. Sugar can be added to the milo beverage, but many people enjoy it without the addition of sweeteners, appreciating it for its subtle chocolate flavour. Another possible use is making a normal cup of cold Milo and microwaving it for approximately 40–60 seconds. This gives the Milo drink a biscuity cover on top.

Another popular use is to sprinkle it on ice cream, especially vanilla ice cream. Milo can also be sprinkled on breakfast cereals. Milo is often the favoured beverage for the Tim Tam Slam.

Others may even choose to not add milk or water and eat the Milo straight from the tin with spoon as they believe this may detract from the true flavour and magic

Also very popular is the "Magic Milo" which involves adding Milo to a small amount of milk with sugar and whipping it to increase the amount of air in the milk, thereby doubling it in size. Then one adds small amounts of hot water and milk in layers stirring each new layer vigorously to maintain its lightness. A final layer of whipped cream topped with extra Milo or chocolate sprinkles. This is more of a 'warm' beverage rather than a 'hot' one and is a more popular version of hot Milo for children.

Milo is very popular in Malaysia, where the brand name is synonymous with chocolate flavored drinks. This drink could be found in almost every household in this country[citation needed]. This is because Milo was once used as a nutrient supplement when it was first introduced in the country, and has thus gained a reputation as a 'must have' drink for the old and the younger generations. Milo manufactured in Malaysia is made to dissolve well in hot water to produce a smooth hot chocolate drink, or with ice added for a cold drink. Milo in Malaysia is served in kopitiams and mamak stalls offering versions such as "Milo Dinosaur" (a cup of milo with an extra spoonful of powdered undissolved Milo added to it), "Milo Godzilla" (a cup of Milo with ice cream and/or topped with whipped cream) and "Neslo" (combined with Nescafe powdered coffee).

  71. EXAM PREPARATION

The most important thing any student can do to prepare for exam is to start early. The days of studying for an exam on the bus going to school are over. Even if you got A's this way, it's not going to work very often with college material. College courses require far more effort.

Start preparing for the next test the day after you take the prior one. Daily preparation is crucial. At a minimum, review material once every week between exams.
How much time is needed? The classic question. Some recommend 2-3 hours outside of class for every hour of class time. In some cases homework problems will require this much effort. For a straightforward lecture course try the following:
Every day before class, preview the material for 15-20 minutes.
Attend every lecture. Seems simple but it's the biggest misteak students make.
    Take good notes. Learn how.
Spend another 20-30 minutes after class going over the notes.
Use this time to get any confusing points cleared up in your head; much better now than later. This will make later exam prepare.

  73. Snooze, You Win...

According to new studies, nothing tunes up mind and body like a good nap. But there's an art to catching the right kind of z's.

When billionaire adventurer Steve Fossett broke the record for around-the-world solo jet flight last March, he slept just 60 minutes in 67 hours of flight time -- 60 minutes broken into two- and three-minute naps. "I slept when I needed it and awoke refreshed," he says. Fossett, who holds world records in ballooning, sailing, and flying, adds that none of his feats could have been done without these micro-variety "power naps."

So what makes a power nap effective? Think of it as an investment with the greatest return in the least amount of time, a kind of super-efficient sleep that fits nicely in a high-pressure schedule: say, between business meetings or in the minutes before a game.

Napping in general benefits heart functioning, hormonal maintenance, and cell repair, says Dr. Sara Mednick, a scientist at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies who is at the forefront of napping research. A power nap, says Mednick, simply maximizes these benefits by getting the sleeper into and out of rejuvenative sleep as fast as possible. No surprise that Lance Armstrong's coach, Chris Carmichael, says that "naps were critical in his overall training plan." In Manhattan, napping has become a lucrative business: MetroNaps in the Empire State Building provides darkened cot-like redoubts that attract Broadway actors between shows as well as investment bankers who otherwise would fall asleep at their desks. And in Iraq, U.S. Marine commanders have mandated a power nap before patrols.

Here's how the power nap works: Sleep comes in five stages that recur cyclically throughout a typical night, and a power nap seeks to include just the first two of them. The initial stage features the sinking into sleep as electrical brain activity, eye and jaw-muscle movement, and respiration slow. The second is a light but restful sleep in which the body gets ready -- lowering temperature, relaxing muscles further -- for the entry into the deep and dreamless "slow-wave sleep," or SWS, that occurs in stages three and four. Stage five, of course, is REM, when the eyes twitch and dreaming becomes intense.

The five stages repeat every 90 to 120 minutes. Stage one can last up to 10 minutes, stage two until the 20th minute. Extenuating circumstances, like manning the controls of a jet, aside, experts believe that the optimal power nap should roughly coincide with the first 20 minutes in order to give you full access to stage two's restorative benefits. In addition to generally improving alertness and stamina, stage two is marked by a certain electrical signals in the nervous system that seem to solidify the connection between neurons involved in muscle memory. "It's like a welding machine," says Mednick. "When you wake up, your neurons perform the same function as before, but now faster and with more accuracy," making the 20-minute nap indispensible to the hard-working athlete looking to straighten out his putter or baseline shot.

Mednick's most recent research also shows that power naps can lift productivity and mood, lower stress, and improve memory and learning. In fact, Mednick has found through MRIs of nappers that brain activity stays high throughout the day with a nap; without one, it declines as the day wears on. Tell that to the boss next time he finds you passed out at your desk.

There is, however, a pitfall in all this sleeping around. You have to carefully time the duration of your nap in order to avoid waking in slow-wave sleep. This can produce what's known as sleep inertia. That's when the limbs feel like concrete, the eyes can't focus, the speech is slurred, the mind is sluggish. Sleep inertia can ruin your day. You must keep the nap to 20 minutes or slightly less, and if you need the extra sleep, wait until the 50-minute mark. This will safely keep you on the power side of your nap.

    Getting The Perfect Nap
Everyone, no matter how high-strung, has the capacity to nap. But the conditions need to be right. Dr. Sara Mednick, who will publish a book on napping in the spring (tentatively titled Take Back the Nap!, Workman Publishing) has some helpful hints:

1 The first consideration is psychological: Recognize that you're not being lazy; napping will make you more productive and more alert after you wake up.
2 Try to nap in the morning or just after lunch; human circadian rhythms make late afternoons a more likely time to fall into deep (slow-wave) sleep, which will leave you groggy.
3 Avoid consuming large quantities of caffeine as well as foods that are heavy in fat and sugar, which meddle with a person's ability to fall asleep.
4 Instead, in the hour or two before your nap time, eat foods high in calcium and protein, which promote sleep.
5 Find a clean, quiet place where passersby and phones won't disturb you.
6 Try to darken your nap zone, or wear an eyeshade. Darkness stimulates melatonin, the sleep- inducing hormone.
7 Remember that body temperature drops when you fall asleep. Raise the room temperature or use a blanket.
8 Once you are relaxed and in position to fall asleep, set your alarm for the desired duration (see below).

How Long Is A Good Nap?
THE NANO-NAP: 10 to 20 secondsSleep studies haven't yet concluded whether there are benefits to these brief intervals, like when you nod off on someone's shoulder on the train.
THE MICRO-NAP: two to five minutes Shown to be surprisingly effective at shedding sleepiness.
THE MINI-NAP: five to 20 minutes Increases alertness, stamina, motor learning, and motor performance.
THE ORIGINAL POWER NAP: 20 minutesIncludes the benefits of the micro and the mini, but additionally improves muscle memory and clears the brain of useless built-up information, which helps with long-term memory (remembering facts, events, and names).
THE LAZY MAN'S NAP: 50 to 90 minutesIncludes slow-wave plus REM sleep; good for improving perceptual processing; also when the system is flooded with human growth hormone, great for repairing bones and muscles.

  74. Creative Ways to Say Sorry

There are so many creative ways to say sorry, which is why adding your own special touch to your apology can make all the difference in getting things back on track.

    >>>Apology Gifts
Apology gifts add that 'extra touch' to your apologies. Keep in mind that they absolutely aren't necessary for an apology to be effective. What makes them so special (and something to consider when thinking about ways to say sorry) is that they are NOT necessary or expected. Just make sure when giving a gift that it is given WITH an apology and is not THE apology itself.

    >>>Poems and Poetry
A poem has long been considered one of the most thoughtful, symbolic, and romantic ways to communicate ones feelings. They capture the essence of a person's thought and often invoke an emotional or sensual response. When thinking about ways to say sorry however, a poem or some poetry alone is almost NEVER a sufficient alternative to a good and meaningful apology. This is a common mistake.
Obviously, the perfect apology can only be tailored to your particular situation, so poetry alone is not likely to do the trick. Use poetry to let the person know how important your relationship is, but frame the poem with a well crafted verbal or written apology appropriate to the circumstance.
    >>>Quotes
Using quotes or quotations can also help to illustrate a point and enrich your apology. But like poems quotes should be used to support your apology and not be the apology itself.

    >>>Music and Song Lyrics
Quoting song lyrics in a letter can also enhance your apology, for many of the same reasons. The added advantage of using song lyrics is that you can include the song on a custom made CD (or, even better, an Ipod) as a gift to go along with the apology.
For example, Chicago's "Hard to say I'm sorry" has some beautiful lyrics about promising to make things right again.
"After all that we've been through,
I will make it up to you. I promise to."
Think about a favorite song that you share and how you can bring that into your apology or offer it as a gift, but remember to relate the song to the situation by framing it within a traditional apology.

  75. I had read an article about how to win your ex-girlfriend’s heart back. After a while breaking with her, you might realize that you still love her. So, take time to read in order to rebuild your relationship back.

As women are driven by their feelings and emotions, most women will leave a relationship if they feel they are not having their emotional requirements met by a man.

The first step in winning her back is through contact. Starting off with a phone call and an e-mail, and working it up to more frequent and personal contact. During times of contact it is important to remain attentive and to respect and even value her point of view. Remaining attentive will also allow you to identify any no-verbal cues she may be giving you.

Do not try to play games with your ex. She is one of the few people that know you extremely well and will be able to tell if and when you are playing games. For this reason it is important to subtly let her know your intentions. This does not mean you are to shout your intentions to get back with her, rather, notify her in a subtle and unobvious way.

Winning her heart back will require you to change certain things about yourself in order to allow the relationship work a second time around. If you do not think that these changes are sustainable, it is advisable to refrain from starting the relationship over, as there will only be more heartbreak further down the track.

  76. Failing School Tests or University Exams

'Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.'
    Confucius

Discovering you have failed a school test (or exam) can feel devastating. Maybe you thought you'd done well, or perhaps you feel as if you couldn't have worked any harder. Maybe you feel that test nerves let you down or you are worrying what you are going to do now.

It's natural of course to feel bad after failing school tests especially if your friends did well but it's vital to keep in mind that you can come back from this.

    Test failure

Perhaps you were pinning all your hopes on these exams and feel devastated that you didn't pass. It's important to keep determined and see test failure as just a detour not a road block.

Not putting all your eggs in one basket

You may feel as if your confidence has been shaken by failing tests this time round but you'll find that this session will get you having faith in yourself that you can really move on and do well in the future.

Many people feel depressed when they fail an exam that was important to them. And some people are very black or white and all or nothing in their thinking (which makes them more emotional). So if you'd be feeling something like: 'My whole life is ruined now because I failed this test!' then you have been using black or white thinking.

The fact is that eventual success is going to feel better after initial test failure. When you do pass it's going to be real success. And it's the people who can keep positive (and keep going) after they've had set backs who become the real achievers because they know how to keep on keeping on and getting back into it. Of course the only real failure is giving up to soon.

    Comment:

I felt this article was very relevant considering we will all be sitting for our finals soon enough and some of us might not get the grades we want(cough..mechanics...cough)..
But like the article mentioned, the only time we truly fail is when we give up.

Looking back is only fine for those who want to... go backwards So instead of dwelling on the past, let's take this opportunity to become stronger than before!

  77. Constitutional Monarchy

The office of the King is not hereditary. Malaysia practices a system of government based on Constitutional Monarchy and Parliamentary Democracy at two levels, Federal and State levels. At the Federal level the head of State is the King and the head of government is the Prime Minister. At the state level the head (Ruler) of State is either the Sultan, Raja, or Yang di-Pertuan Besar, and the Yang di-Pertua Negeri is the head of State where there are no Rulers: the Chief Ministers (Menteri Besar/Ketua Menteri) are the heads of government.

In accordance with the Malaysian Constitution, the power to elect and appoint the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is vested with the Conference of Rulers. In the federation system of government (as practiced in Malaysia) where a number of state Rulers are involved, a council known as the Conference of Rulers, was instituted under Article 38 of the Federal Constitution to serve as a forum for the Rulers and Governors (Yang Dipertua Negeri) to meet and deliberate. On certain matters the Federal Constitution provides that the government seek advice from the Conference of Rulers.

The monarchy is seen as a symbol of power, authority, and government. It is embodiment of strength, protection and justice for the people and personifies their love and loyalty towards the country. In countries, which practice parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy, the power of the people is conveyed through Parliament which in turn delegates its executive power to the Cabinet. In Malaysia, whatever action is taken by an authority is executed in the name of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong who acts on the advice of the Government.

    Comment:

Every country has its own form of government referring to the set of political institutions by which the government of a state is organized. Malaysia has been practicing the constitutional monarchy for 51 years, ever since its independence on the 31st of August 1957.I do agree that the monarch is a unifying factor, not only amongst Muslim Malays but also amongst the multi-ethnic, multi-religious minorities throughout the nation. Here I believe that even though it is a common notion that the constitutional monarchy is a counterpart of the Malay supremacy, the monarchy is in fact a symbol of sovereignty that represents all Malaysians regardless of race, religion and gender. The monarchy does not only stand for the Malay race, but merely plays its role as the head of Islam which is the primary religion of Malaysian Malays

Unfortunately, the younger generations do not really know much about our countrys’ monarch as they deem the monarch to be something of the past with no standing in todays’ society (basically they believe the monarchs are unable to make a difference or impact society). This is not true, as the monarchs can in fact impact society as they are still regarded the heads of the country. The constitution only limits their power and does not completely obliterate it.

I am also disturbed by the lack of respect shown towards the monarch especially by politicians. The lack of respect here should not only mean the direct verbal assaults made by some politicians such as in the case of Karpal Singh who threatened to sue the Perak Monarch (which I conclude he was referring to), but also the actions of some political parties who have tried to become puppeteers of the monarch by using their name to sway the confidence of the people.

In conclusion, the monarchy of our country is essential to all Malaysians be it as a symbol of sovereignty and leadership or as the head of a religion. Even though their power is limited by the constitution especially in politics, they still can make a change by spreading the aspirations of our country and its people whilst providing guidance and advice for the youth.

  78. POLICY OF ENGLISH USAGE FOR SCIENCE, MATHS TO BE BROUGHT TO NEW CABINET

KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 (Bernama) -- Education Minister Datuk Hishammuddin Hussein said the study findings on the policy of teaching and learning Science and Mathematics would be brought before the new Cabinet.

He said his ministry had distributed copies of the memorandum on the matter to all the ministries concerned to give their comments before the end of this month after which it would be brought to the Cabinet for discussion.

"Considering that we will have a new prime minister, we will therefore wait for the new Cabinet line-up to be announced by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak," he told reporters here today, the last day of the Umno General Assembly 2008.

While thanking the party delegates who debated on the policy (of using English in teaching Science and Maths), Hishammuddin said: "Thank God, it is clear that various opinions have emerged after we opened the issue for all concerned quarters to discuss and debate on.

"If we had made our stand on the matter early (last year), Umno members would not have been able to convey their opinions on it.

"From the party delegates' views heard today (at the Umno general assembly) on the issue, I believe more studies will be carried out so that it will not become polemic or politicised.

"And perhaps we can make the most appropriate decision based on the views of all concerned parties for the sake of our children's future," he said.

    -- BERNAMA

    comment:

I have been thinking about this issue for a long time and many people have debate over this issue too.

Personally, I feel that it is a good move to teach both the subjects in English, as it can help students to improve their English standards. However, many community leaders have voiced out that students are not able to cope the subjects in English, needless to say improving English standard. I do understand the concern, to some extent. I believe there are a few real and untold reasons why students are unable to handle the subjects in English

The policy of teaching science and mathematics in English is under fire again, and all the ugly politics of language and race have come to the fore once more. But the big problem here is not with the policy—it is with the way we have carried out the policy. Our education system has many major problems, but going back to teaching science and maths in Malay, Mandarin and Tamil will not be solving more than a few short-term difficulties. Ultimately we learn languages to communicate, and no language is as important for global communication as English—but none of the proposals on the table right now do anything to address the fundamental failures in how we teach English.

First of all, most teachers do not teach the subjects in English. Many students from Chinese schools say that their teachers hardly teach the subjects in English. They only focus in Chinese. Some students as well as parents complain that the teachers use the Science in English time slot to teach other subjects. How can we expect students to be able to learn the subjects in English if they are not taught in that medium?

Secondly, many (obviously not all) teachers who are assigned to teach the subjects are not proficient in English too. If the teachers are unable to handle the language itself, how can the knowledge to passed down? In both secondary and primary school, many teachers still using either BM, Tamil or Mandarin to teach though the books used are in English.

Last but not least, many teachers, especially from Chinese and Tamil schools, portrays the impression that learning the subjects in English is a nuisance. If that's what kids are taught, they will believe everything that teachers say. This is the actual problem we have to solve...

  79. Motivational story: The 4 wives

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.

Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives

    a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.

    b. Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.

    c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

    d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and other pleasures.

    Comment:

The truth is we often times, neglect the more important things in our life in favour of the less important stuff. Most of the time, this is not done intentionally, but are merely instances of misplaced priorities. This is why we have to make sure we have our priorities in order...

Sometimes we just have to take the time to look inside ourselves instead of outwards.Spiritual cleansing whether by prayers or meditation does wonders for a person's soul. It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go and that is why we should take better care of it! Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament about it...

  80. TREATMENT FOR DRY HAIR:

Silky, shiny hair is a sign of good health. But everybody is not blessed with healthy hair. Every person has a different hair type such as normal, oily or dry. Very few people have normal hair type. Oily hair tend to become sticky quickly. Dry hair can be identified by their rough and dull appearance. They look lifeless with frizziness and split ends. They are difficult to brush or comb. They are susceptible to damage, tangles and breakage.

    Causes of Dry Hair
The main cause of dry hair is a lack of moisture. Moisture is required to maintain hair’s normal texture and sheen. When the cuticle becomes highly weathered and porous, the cortex is not able to retain water. It makes the hair dry and rough. Some common causes of dry hair are environmental damage due to heat, sun rays and outside chemicals, chemical damage due to bleach, color or perms and mechanical damage by curling irons, blow-drying or hot rollers. Overuse of heat-styling equipments, harsh weather conditions, excessive use of shampoos and conditioners containing harsh chemicals and misuse of perms or color are also responsible for making the hair dry. Besides this, some people are born with dry hair. Each factor reduces the moisture content of hair, due to which hair loses its bounce, elasticity and suppleness. Dryness may also result from sebum deficiency on the hair surface because of absence or decrease in sebaceous gland secretions. Dry hair can be a symptom of certain metabolic disorders such as Menkes kinky hair syndrome and hypothyroidism.

If you have dry hair, then you should be very watchful about the hair care. You immediately need to seek the treatment for dry hair; else they will get damaged and break easily. You may also suffer from severe hair loss. Here are some effective solutions to treat your dry hair.
Don’t more frequently wash you hair. Most people tend to wash hair too frequently and apply shampoos and conditioners. Most shampoos and hair cleaning products consist of harsh chemicals. These chemicals reduce the moisture content of your hair and make them dry.
You should use the hair care products that are free from chemicals. Shampoos and conditioners containing humectants are recommended. Humectants attract moisture to the hair and keep them moist. Generally, these products contain proteins, which strengthen the hair. Low pH shampoos are excellent for the hair, as they don’t make the cuticles to lift.
Heat is very harmful for dry hair. If you have to spend a lot of time in sunlight, then use a good hair sunscreen. While going outdoor or traveling, protect your hair with a hat or headscarf. Dry your hair naturally whenever possible. Avoid using blow-dryer or hair dryer as much as possible.
Avoid use of shampoo for every washing. Instead, rinse them with water only. Don’t use mousse, but use a thickening lotion.
Brush your hair frequently using a bristle brush, so that the natural oil spreads in the hair shafts.
You can apply a spray-on shine-conditioning product for a short-term use. It offers instant sheen and a healthy-looking appearance.
Chemical treatments such as coloring, perming or relaxing make the hair dry and rough. Hence, try to avoid these treatments on your hair.
Proper nutrition is very essential for the health of hair. Drink plenty of water everyday, which helps retain the moisture in your hair. Have a balanced and healthy diet, containing abundant proteins and essential fatty acids.
    Home Remedies for Dry Hair

You can use some homemade remedies to treat your dry hair. Add two tablespoons of gram flour to a cup of coconut milk and apply it on your scalp and hair. Massage gently and leave for about five minutes. Then rinse the hair.

Mix an egg in a cupful of skimmed milk. Apply this mixture into the scalp. Leave it for about 5 minutes. Then thoroughly wash your hair.

Hair massage with olive oil, safflower oil, coconut oil, castor oil or lavender oil is beneficial for hair and scalp. Massage your scalp with any or combination of these oils. It provides essential oils and moisture to your hair as well as improves blood circulation.

I suggest that if your hair are excessively damaged, then it’s better to consult the doctor.

Girls...BECAREFUL!!!In George Town, there was one Indonesian maid was gang-raped by five masked men. They used chloroform to overpower her before they gang-raped her. Before the crime happened, she was walikng along the road then bundled into a car and taken to a unknown place. She found out that she was naked and the five men were standing over her.So, my advise is must not walk alone along a quiet road, especially during night.Ask some friends to accompany you.At least they can help you on the spot and call for help at the first time.Maybe every girl already know and learned the techniques to avoid that happen. But since this kind of case is still happen, better be alert and becareful.

I wish that i'll never get this disease anymore!! the last time i had it when i am in standard 3..

this is the disease.. Varicella Disease or well-known as CHICKENP0X!

let me introduce what is the exact meaning of Varicella Disease...

Chickenpox is an infectious disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus which results in a blister-like rash, itching, tiredness and fever.

h0w can we been affected by this disease???

-->Chickenpox is highly infectious and spreads from person to person by direct contact or through the air from an infected person’s coughing or sneezing. A persons with chickenpox is contagious 1-2 days before the rash appears and until all blisters have formed scabs. It takes from 10-21 days after contact with an infected person for someone to develop chickenpox.

h0w can we know that we have been affected??

The symptoms of chickenpox vary from individual to individual. Some people may experience all of these symptoms while others experience one or two.
The most common symptoms of chickenpox are:

    1) Mild fever. The fever varies between 101º F to 105º F and returns to normal when the blisters have disappeared.

  87. Why is Dark Chocolate Healthy?:

Chocolate is made from plants, which means it contains many of the health benefits of dark vegetables.

These benefits are from flavonoids, which act as antioxidants. Antioxidants protect the body from aging caused by free radicals, which can cause damage that leads to heart disease. Dark chocolate contains a large number of antioxidants (nearly 8 times the number found in strawberries).

Flavonoids also help relax blood pressure through the production of nitric oxide, and balance certain hormones in the body.

  88. The Stars in the Sky

Once upon a time there was a little lass who wanted nothing more than to touch the stars in the sky. On clear, moonless nights she would lean out her bedroom window, gazing up at the thousand tiny lights scattered across the heavens, wondering what it would be like to hold one in her hand.

One warm summer evening, a night when the Milky Way shined more brightly than ever before, she decided she couldn't stand it any longer-she just had to touch a star or two, no matter what. So she slipped out the window and started off by herself to see if she could reach them.
She walked a far, far way, and then farther still, until she came to a mill wheel, creaking and grinding away.

"Good evening," she said to the mill wheel. "I would like to play with the stars in the sky. Have you seen any near here?"
"Ah, yes," groaned the old mill wheel. "Every night they shine in my face from the surface of this pond until I cannot sleep. Jump in, my lass, and you will find them."

The little girl jumped into the pond and swam around until her arms were so tired she could swim no longer, but she could not find any stars.
"Excuse me," she called to the old mill wheel, "but I don't believe there are any stars here after all!"
"Well, there certainly were before you jumped in and stirred the water up," the mill wheel called back. So she climbed out and dried herself off as best she could, and set out again across the fields.

After a while she came to a little brook, murmuring over its mossy stones.
"Good evening, brooklet," she said politely. "I'm trying to reach the stars in the sky so I may play with them. Have you seen any near here?"

"Ah, yes," whispered the brooklet. "They glint on my banks at night until I cannot sleep. Wade in, my lassie, and you will find them."
So the little girl waded in and paddled around for a while, and climbed all over the mossy rocks, but never once did she find a star.
"Excuse me," she said as politely as she could, "but I just don't think there are any stars here."

"What do you mean, no stars here?" the little brook babbled. "There are lots of stars here. I see them all the time. On some nights, they cover me from the edge of the woods all the way down to the old mill pond. I have more stars here than I know what to do with." And the brooklet babbled on and on until it even forgot the little girl was there, so she tiptoed away across the fields.

After a while she sat down to rest in a meadow, and it must have been a fairy meadow, because before she knew it a hundred little fairies came scampering out to dance on the grass. They were no taller than toadstools, but they were dressed in silver and gold.

"Good evening, Little Folk," said the girl. "I'm trying to reach the stars in the sky. Have you seen any near here?"
"Ah, yes," sang the fairies. "They glisten every night among the blades of the grass. Come and dance with us, little lass, and you will find as many stars as you like."
So the child danced and danced, she whirled round and round in a ring with the Little Folk, but though the grass gleamed beneath her feet, she never spied a single star. Finally she could dance no longer, and she plopped down inside the ring of fairies.

"I've tried and I've tried, but I can't seem to reach the stars down here," she cried. "If you don't help me, I'll never find any to play with."
The fairies all whispered together. Finally one of them crept up and took her by the hand, and said: "If you're really determined, you must go forward. Keep going forward, and mind you take the right road. Ask Four Feet to carry you to No Feet At All, and then tell No Feet At All to carry you to the Stairs Without Steps, and if you climb that..."

"Then I'll be among the stars in the sky?" cried the lassie.
"If you'll not be there, then you'll be somewhere else, won't you?" laughed the fairy, and he vanished with all the rest.
So the little girl set out again with a light heart, and by and by she came to a saddled horse, tied to a tree.
"Good evening," she said. "I'm trying to reach the stars in the sky, and I've come so far my bones are aching. Will you give me a ride?"
"I don't know anything about stars in the sky," the horse replied. "I'm here only to do the bidding of the Little Folk."
"But I come from the Little Folk," she cried, "and they said to tell Four Feet to carry me to No Feet At All."
"Four Feet? That's me!" the horse whinnied. "Jump up and ride with me."
They rode and they rode and they rode, till they rode out of the forest and found themselves at the edge of the sea.
"I've brought you to the end of the land, and that's as much as Four Feet can do," said the horse. "Now I must get home to my own folk."
So the little girl slid down and walked along the sea, wondering what in the world she would do next, until suddenly the biggest fish she'd ever seen came swimming up to her feet.
"Good evening," she said to the fish. "I'm trying to reach the stars in the sky. Can you help me?"

"I'm afraid I can't," gurgled the fish, unless, of course, you bring pie word from the Little Folk."
"But I do," she cried. "They said Four Feet would bring me to
No Feet At All, and then No Feet At All would carry me to the Stairs Without Steps."
"Ah, well," said the fish, "that's all right then. Get on my back and hold on tight."
And off he went-kerplash!-into the water, swimming along a silver path that glistened on the surface and seemed to stretch toward the end of the sea, where the water met the sky. There, in the distance, the little girl saw a beautiful rainbow rising out of the ocean and into the heavens, shining with all the colors in the world, blues and reds and greens, and wonderful to look at. The nearer they drew, the brighter it gleamed, until she had to shade her eyes from its light.

At last they came to the foot of it, and she saw the rainbow was really a broad bright road, sloping up and away into the sky, and at the far, far end of it she could see wee shining things dancing about.
"I can go no further," said the fish. "Here are the Stairs Without Steps. Climb up, if you can, but hold on tight. These stairs were never meant for little lassies' feet, you know. " So the little girl jumped off No Feet's back, and off he splashed through the water.
She climbed and she climbed and she climbed up the rainbow. It wasn't easy. Every time she took one step, she seemed to slide back two. And even though she climbed until the sea was far below, the stars in the sky looked farther away than ever.

"But I won't give up, " she told herself "I've come so far, I can't go back."
Up and up she went. The air grew colder and colder, but the sky turned brighter and brighter, and finally she could tell she was nearing the stars.
    "I'm almost there!" she cried.
And sure enough, suddenly she reached the very tip-top of the rainbow. Everywhere she looked, the stars were turning and dancing. They raced up and down, and back and forth, and spun in a thousand colors around her.
"I'm finally here, " she whispered to herself She had never seen anything so beautiful before, and she stood gazing and wondering at the heavens.
But after a while she realized she was shivering with cold, and when she looked down into the darkness, she could no longer see the earth. She wondered where her own home was, so far away, but no street lamps or window lights marked the blackness below. She began to feel a little dizzy.
"I won't go until I touch one star." she told herself, and she stood on her toes and stretched her arms as high as she could. She reached further and further-and suddenly a shooting star zipped by and surprised her so much she lost her balance.
Down she slid, down-down-down the rainbow. The further she slid, the warmer it grew, and the warmer it grew, the sleepier she felt. She gave a great yawn, and a small sigh, and before she knew it, she was fast asleep.
When she woke up, she found herself in her very own bed. The sun was peeking through her window, and the morning birds sangin the bushes and trees.
"Did I really touch the stars?" she asked herself "Or was it only a dream?"
Then she felt something in her hand. When she opened her fist, a tiny light flashed in her palm, and at once was gone, and she smiled because she knew it was a speck of stardust.

  89. To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act.
    Anatole France
    French novelist (1844 - 1924)

Dreaming can bring about the generation and establishment of unique, magnificent and great ideas, this is why we should have some day-dreaming when we crave for ideas or planning to do something spectacular. But that’s just the beginning, one must also act in order to realize the contents of the dream, if not, dreams will still remain as dreams.

  90. OPTIC NEURITIS

A study (the Optic Neuritis Treatment Trial (ONTT)) suggested that the likelihood of recovery at 6 months was equal whether they were treated with steroids or sugar pills. Patients treated with oral (pills) steroids seemed to have a higher chance of recurrent episodes. Therefore, steroid pills are not recommended as treatment. Patients who were treated with intravenous (given by needle) steroids did have a slightly more rapid recovery of their vision, although the final visual outcome was not better than in those who were not treated. Thus, IV steroids can be recommended for patients with severe involvement or involvement of both eyes. The ONTT also suggested that IV steroids in those patients at high risk (as determined by their MRI scan) could have a reduction in the chances of a second episode over the next three years. Recent studies have suggested that the chance of developing a recurrent episode may be reduced by starting other medications after IV steroids in those patients at high risk. MRI is important in suggesting the chance of recurrence or progression. Your doctor can address questions about possible treatment with you.

  91. ROSELLE

Roselle is native from India to Malaysia, where it is commonly cultivated, and must have been carried at an early date to Africa. It has been widely distributed in the Tropics and Subtropics of both hemispheres, and in many areas of the West Indies and Central America has become naturalized.

The Flemish botanist, M. de L'Obel, published his observations of the plant in 1576, and the edibility of the leaves was recorded in Java in 1687. Seeds are said to have been brought to the New World by African slaves. Roselle was grown in Brazil in the 17th Century and in Jamaica in 1707. The plant was being cultivated for food use in Guatemala before 1840. J.N. Rose, in 1899, saw large baskets of dried calyces in the markets of Guadalajara, Mexico.

In 1892, there were 2 factories producing roselle jam in Queensland, Australia, and exporting considerable quantities to Europe. This was a short-lived enterprise. In 1909, there were no more than 4 acres (1.6 ha) of edible roselle in Queensland. A Mr. Neustadt of San Francisco imported seeds from Australia about 1895 and shared them with the California State Agricultural Experiment Station for test plantings and subsequent seed distribution. It was probably about the same time that Australian seeds reached Hawaii. In 1904, the Hawaiian Agricultural Experiment Station received seeds from Puerto Rico. In 1913 there was much interest in interplanting roselle with Ceara rubber (Manihot glaziovii Muell. Arg.) on the island of Maui and there were some plantations established also on the island of Hawaii, altogether totaling over 200 acres (81 ha). The anticipated jelly industry failed to materialize and promotional efforts were abandoned by 1929.

  92. Processing Gamat Products in Langkawi
There are two ways of processing the sea cucumbers.
One is to get the pure fluid and the other is mixed with coconut oil and plant extracts.
In both processes, the sea cucumber is dumped into a huge barrel called rojam which is placed over a slow burning fire for three days.
In the first process, no ingredients are added. Thus, you have the pure form of fluid which is called air gamat.
In the second process, the coconut oil and secret plant ingredients are periodically added in throughout the three days. After the third day, you have an oily based substance called minyak gamat.
The amazing thing about the whole cooking process is that you can dip your hand inside the fluid or oil and not be burnt!
The processed sea cucumber or gamat is marketed in bottles.
The pure type or ayer gamat is to be consumed orally. It is used to cure all internal ailments such as peptic ulcer, duodenal ulcer, bleeding piles and stomach aches.
The mixed kind or minyak gamat is for external application. It is used to quicken the healing process of cuts and wounds.
You can buy minyak or air gamat speciality shops that only sell air gamat/minyak gamat. These shops are located along the road from Padang Matsirat to Kuala Teriang, which is around the airport area. It can also be found at Tanjung Rhu, which is in the northern part of Langkawi.

  93. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams of five active players each try to score points against one another by placing a ball through a 10 feet (3.048 m) high hoop (the goal) under organized rules. Basketball is one of the most popular and widely viewed sports in the world.Points are scored by throwing (shooting) the ball through the basket above; the team with more points at the end of the game wins. The ball can be advanced on the court by bouncing it (dribbling) or passing it between teammates. Disruptive physical contact (foul) is not permitted and there are restrictions on how the ball can be handled (violations).

Through time, basketball has developed to involve common techniques of shooting, passing and dribbling, as well as players' positions, and offensive and defensive structures. Typically, the tallest members of a team will play center or one of two forward positions, while shorter players or those who possess the best ball handling skills and speed, play the guard positions. While competitive basketball is carefully regulated, numerous variations of basketball have developed for casual play. In some countries, basketball is also a popular spectator sport.

While competitive basketball is primarily an indoor sport, played on a basketball court, less regulated variations have become exceedingly popular as an outdoor sport among both inner city and rural groups.

‘Go on ,’ jeered the pub regulars. ‘We’ll give you ten to one that your parrot
    can.t tell us a joke.’
‘All right,’ replied Fred. ‘I accept your bet.’
But try as he could, Fred was unable to make the parrot talk . let alone tell
    jokes.
On the way home Fred shook the bird and shouted: ‘What do you mean by
keeping quiet? You made me lose a ten to one bet!’
‘Don’t worry!’ squawked the parrot. ‘Tomorrow you'll be able to get fifty to
    one.’
